My family & I were driving around Bennington late one night. We were starving, and trying to find a restaurant. It was about 9:30 PM, & we didn't care where we ate. But, every place that we pulled into seemed to be turning off lights, putting up chairs and sweeping floors. It looked like we were going to starve on the remaining hour's drive home. But.... Suddenly....We came upon the Lucky Dragon. I got out to see how late they were open, and happily shouted "They're open until 11 PM" to my family. We parked the car, and went in. It was a cold night, and snowing hard. We had soup, lo mein, pork fried rice, egg rolls, and beef w/ broccoli. Everything was DELICIOUS!! The decor was the usual vintage Chinese, & the restaurant was clean. The people working were very pleasant, and we were served in no time at all. I have only 1 complaint, and that's the reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5. It was freezing in the restaurant on that cold winter's night. There were 2 tiny space heaters blowing from either end of the seating area....And, I believe they were the only heat source in the restaurant..on that blustery night. I ate with my hat, coat, scarf and gloves on that night. But, since everything else was great..I would like to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and say....perhaps their heating system suddenly broke down that night. If that was the case....I can't imagine why they remained open....But....Oh well....We still enjoyed our meal, and I would go back again (maybe this time on a warm night). ...
Read moreNever dined inside, as we had always got takeout. This place we have been having for rhe past 15 years, as long as I can remember, my go to was the General Tso's chicken, very good always fresh. We have always been met with kindness, we have always been doing food here, the earliest I remember was either early 2015 or 2016 based on the flight paths of JFK Airport over the area heading NW, which is the sole reason I remember this place so much. The prices have been getting slightly more expensive, but I completely could understand, by far this is the best takeout location we have had. Grandma said the Pineapple Chicken If that was the name of the dish, and if it is still on the menu after nearly 9 years, was the best for her,as Grandma had passed away in November 2016, despite us not having take out from this location in about a year, I still can't wait for my...
Read moreOrdered several items to take home; wish I didn't live 20 miles away when I unpacked my order. The Mongolian Beef was more like all green and red peppers with a trace of beef in it; I'm not sure this was even Mongolian Beef that they prepared but it's what I ordered & paid for. Tossed it out! Also ordered a pint of Lobster Lo Mein; now, it was explained it came with only one piece of real lobster & the rest was imitation crab meat. I was okay with that. When I got home, I never realized that a piece of real lobster meat could be gray, in color. GRAY! I tossed that too. The Sesame Chicken was passable. And I should have seen the prophecy of what was about to come with this whole take-out disaster when not one Fortune Cookie was in my bag. I wouldn't buy this takeout for a...
