Went to drive through, placed order, business as usual. The kids working the Friday night shift all seemed pretty bummed to be there, unfortunate but forgivable behavior in my book. I used to manage a restaurant, I get it. Anyway, after receiving our order quite a bit later, and getting part way down the road, my wife realized that part of our order was missing. Okay, fine, I'll just go back and get the rest of my order. I went inside and was greeted by a friendly kid, asking to take my order. I explained to him that I was missing some items and showed the receipt. I was missing a Buffalo mac and cheese bowl, and a kid's mac and cheese bowl. He went to go relay the message, (presumably to management, I surmised) and so I waited at the counter. There were a couple younger guys working and getting stuff done, but a majority of the staff was on their cell phones, including the shift manager. After a few minutes, the shift manager comes to ask me what the problem was. I explained again what was missing. Instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, I was begrudgingly given the Buffalo mac and cheese bowl, but told by the shift manager (Emmie) that she had seen the kid's mac bowl go into the bag herself. I'm not sure what occurred between then and when we received it, but it was not in the box as described. There was no attempt to make it right, not even a "Sorry about that, bruh." I was argued with, so I became frustrated and left, after double checking that I wasn't in fact the jerk here, but alas, no mac and cheese. I did not wish to push it further, for fear of them spitting in my kid's food or something.
Service was a bummer today. The food is great, once you...
Read moreI already called and spoke with someone. She is the reason why this 1-Star rating isn't permanent. Her kindness and patience listening to me speak hard truths about how my food came out needs a gold medal! Unfortunately, my fries this round for the 5th time in a row has been soggy and not crispy at all. It just didn't taste like it was made to order and how the bag says "Always Fresh" really left a lot of distrust for me. I spent my early college years going to the slim chickens on College Ave. Back when they had the purple trim. What happened to you guys? :( Hoping to have a reason to change my 1* to a 5* on my next visit.
Update: 6/25/21 Chicken was not fresh, fries was soggy again. Pre-cooking chicken before a rush is not the way to go.
Update: 6/29/21 I'd love to try again, just make sure team stays consistent with food prep, and if it comes out as good as the original that I frequent on College Ave from the original owners you can count on a 5 star review edit. Thank you for followup!
Update: 12/8/22 A turnaround for the BEST. Setting back the rating to 5 stars as deserved. My food came out perfect and hot, and the fries were seasoned and crispy. Thank you for...
Read moreNight manager is very unprofessional. Uber is my second job after working 50hrs a week managing with my own company. Being yelled at “we’re closed” twice and getting the window closed in my face marks this one a skip when I get dings for orders.. takes a hit on me but I’ll take it when it comes to having to deal with inconsiderate people. Everywhere online says the restaurant is open, and there is no sign on the locked door that says ‘drive thru open unitl 12am’ that states otherwise. Yes, there is construction going on outside the building with lights on, so is that preventing online orders from being made? I wouldn’t know because I didn’t get an explanation as to why I am now having to message “I’m so sorry, I just got yelled at that the store is closed so I am having to cancel your order” to this customer. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but the more drivers that experience this won’t want to pick up from this location. Maybe that’s...
