Let me start by saying my husband and I are huge fans of Bentonville. We come up at least 2 times a year for biking and enjoying the city. We discovered The Buttered Biscuit and started following their Instagram account, which would soon turn into lusting over the savory posts!
We made a special trip to The Biscuit on our next visit to Bentonville despite free breakfast at the hotel. Despite being 6AM on New Years Day, the staff and music was in full swing! I was asked as soon as I walked in if I wanted some hot coffee, as it was literally 1 degrees outside. We were treated whole heartedly like family that hadn’t been seen in a while. Our waitress, Sharon Rose (I really hope I’m remembering correctly) treated us like her grandkids, taking care of our 6 year old daughter as her own. Sharon took her time getting through the menu with us pointing out special features, her favorite items and explaining the process of how the hash is cooked in house ... impressive!
The food was so good. I ordered the kickin chicken and waffles- they were absolutely delightful. Sharon brought over a ridiculously savory marmalade and I had to watch it because I was slathering it all over my waffles and soon would have none left to eat with my chicken! They also brought out “bacon jam” and that was very tasty- Sharon recommended they put it on the side vs. all over the chicken and waffles to ensure I even liked it. “Like” is an understatement here!
My husband got “The farmers son” omelet. An omelet smothered in gravy with a biscuit on the side was delicious. The jams that were brought out were cinnamon apple and a tangy strawberry- I could have eaten them by themselves!!! We had quite a bit to take home, I took the jams with.
All in all, we will definitely be adding The Buttered Biscuit to our Bentonville routine when we are up for a visit...hope to some day live closer to visit more frequently! There is a patio outside I hope to utilize when the...
Read moreThe Gentlemen in the front of this location while I was here for breakfast were great. They seem to be very personable and happy to be there, over all excellent hosts. That was the start of this life changeing breakfast experience. They have a great variety of stuff to choose from, most are fancy-ed up variations of staple breakfast options. I was not on the "best stomach" this morning so I opted for the Winston with an over easy egg. We can start with the side of potatoes, good cook on them with mouth wateringly good seasoning. Slighty crispy. The Bisket of their name sake was literally out of this world good! So moist and warm with beautifuly lightly seasoned, takes you to the last place you had REAL homemade (with love ) Bisket! Grandma's come to mind! The fryed chicken was most definitely pan fryed in a cast iorn skillet by the amazing crisp of the thick coating and the tenderness of the chicken. Or maby they use magic.. the gravy literally filled the cracks in my soul. And the egg added such richness to the whole affair!
I must say this was by far the best breakfast I've eaten outside of home cooked meals in as long as i can remember. I cook a mean breakfast myself and as with everything you cook how you like it, it can be hard to get food you REALLY enjoy out of the house. These guys were quick and the food is worth coming being back for! Speaking of I'm excited to get back in one of these locations when I can and try some of the other thing they have. If they are half as good as what I had on my previous visit I know I will enjoy them. Thanks again guys for an...
Read moreToday (12/29/24) at about 9 am my wife and I went to The Buttered Biscuit for breakfast. I ordered the "Goat Trail Scramble" which is prepared with eggs, baby spinach, peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, goat cheese and avocado and served with their 'famous buttered biscuit'. My wife ordered the "Avocado Grove Toast" which is made with Sourdough toast, topped with melted Swiss cheese, smashed avocado spread, two sunny side eggs, lightly seasoned with fresh ground pepper and pepitas and a green salad. We both ordered coffee and that was a mistake.
For my item, the eggs were mediocre and no amount of seasoning could save them, the spinach was overcooked, the peppers and onions and tomatoes were diced so small as to be almost invisible to the naked eye. The mushrooms and asparagus were slimy. The goat cheese and avocado were not fresh. The biscuit was almost edible, it was dry and crumbly. Not appetizing at all.
As far as my wife's meal, she commented that the best part of her meal was the dressing on the salad. The avocado spread was grey, not fresh and clearly from the night before. She said that the sourdough toast was salty and unappealing. We realized why we are not going to return again.
Vile, disgusting, disgraceful, nasty, awful, horrible, stomach turning and nauseating. This is the best I can say about this restaurant. If you want good food,...
