We have driven by this restaurant dozens of times in our travels around Berea. Have been wanting to stop in and try it out just about as long as we have now been in Berea. Today was finally the day we had the opportunity to try Eastland inn restaurant out.
We went fairly early on a Thursday evening so it was not super packed full of people and there was plenty of parking. Got seated and spent several minutes looking over the menu. I waffled several times trying to decide on what to try for our first visit.
We ended up ordering mozzarella sticks as an appetizer to start. Sticks were solid, marinara dipping sauce was excellent.
I decided on the Cincinnati chili with a side of the stuffed pepper soup for my dinner. My wife got the liver and onions with mashed potatoes and green beans.
The soup was great. The broth had a great flavor and the actual stuffed pepper aspect was quite good. Tried the chili part of my meal first and was quite happy with the flavor. It is not a skyline chili style chilli (no cinnamon and sweet flavor) which I was thankful for as I was hoping for more traditional style chilli tonight. The pasta was excellent and the dish worked well together.
My wife was very happy with her liver and onions and said she really enjoyed the mashed potatoes. They were more of the chunky, almost baked potato consistency she enjoys.
After seeing a table near us get the Thursday taco special, I think my next visit is going to consist of those for sure.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and experience. We regretted having not visited sooner but do expect to go back again in the...
Read moreI have been to many dive bars and family restaurants. Thos has to be the perfect medium. I have great music and attention to detail. Can I say anything anyone else might say. Perfection from a cook I only know as Brandon Nickerson. To have my food prepared and presented the way he does makes it both a hole in the wall gem, and also the most amazing atmosphere of a bar. Appreciate the little things you find in life. I promise this is the hoolahoop of a place to visit. Enjoy low volume music that plays well in the background, but also the attention to reguals and peace of mind you will never be left emptied. This is a Dimond in the rough but also a local facility favorite bar by many in the area. It's not much to be popular these days, but to be something truly amazing is what this home grown place is all about. Love thy neighbor and enjoy your night out at Eastland inn. The place in between the dive and mom and pop restaurant. Love this place not enough to say about the way I feel sitting here, but pure comfort knowing I...
Read moreLive locally but never tried this place. Had high expectations since they have been around for a long time and reviews were good. Nice joint inside and service was attentive, but pretty much ends there. Mussel app came out with half the mussels still closed. When brought to the servers attention was told “yeah that happens “. Ultimately was still charged full price for half an appetizer. Food was average, steak on the surf and turf was grisly. My son ended up taking home and feeding it to the dog. Open face roast beef should have been called gravy and bread and the perch was soggy. To end they only have 10-12 tables and live music on Saturday, so we were actually asked how much longer we would be because they wanted the table for others that were coming in for the band. I can say we tried it, but won’t be back, I hope the appetizer and table...
