I had some family own from the valley and wanted to enjoy some sushi with them . My experience was horrible! My family’s even worst ! The woman that is the waiter there is the waiter there was EXTREMELY RUDE BAD SERVICE. Apon walking in immediately sees that we had 2 younger children with us and says mabey not here we only have 1 high chair . We responded no problem because one of the children was an infant didn’t need a highchair ! She sat us at a take were she began to ask what brought us there I responded your only 2 blocks away and it was Convenient , she handed us then handed us the menus and bring water ( warm water ) we had to ask for ice !! … after going over the menu we was ready to order she came and said ok ( WHAT DO YOU WANT ) excuse me what do you want !!!!!!! With a tone to her voice ! After Putting our order in, she just kept giving us really dirty looks and staring, making us uncomfortable ! 2 other guess her walked in and she greeted them so nicely and handed the menus upon arrival immediately asking them. Did they want to start with something to drink? We did not get that same service. ! As the food was coming out slowly one by one of what we ordered Immediately, I noticed that my daughters California roll that she ordered had very old avocado in it. How can you serve a sushi roll with brown avocado in it ! My brother received his mix of chef’s choice six piece sashimi, and all of the pieces taste like they have been sitting out for a very long time not fresh or good quality fish at all. The texture was very interesting. Never have I had any raw sashimi at that lowest quality. ! The one thing that I can say was good was the miso soup ! This is I wish I didn’t even have to give one star I honestly can’t believe that a place like this and establishment in Berkeley is even open with the horrible service and bad quality food. Beware...
Read moreAbsolutely HORRIBLE ATTITUDE!!! The food was okay. Steak was raw. Salmon was under cooked. The shrimp were not cleaned. The avocados were old and turned an hour after leaving. The waitress was very aggressive and side eyed us with each request. The cups were dirty. We asked for a straw, and she repeated the request with a question first. You want to straw? Oh your steak is to raw? Attitude!!! I didn't feel comfortable asking for anything because I didn't want a confrontational exchange. My daughter and I walked in joyful and couldn't wait to leave. We are very great tippers, but I wrote on the receipt how the experience made us feel and left that as a tip. If you're in the service business and are having a bad day, don't take it out on your customers. Negative energy spreads. Clean you food, don't served spoiled vegetables, cleanyour shrimp, and ask how the steak should be prepared. Don't serve raw beef. Hopefully, after reading our statements, she'll improve her customer service. If you don't want to get sick, choose another...
Read moreI’m updating a previous review. I have been coming here for over a decade and seen it through multiple owners. My family and I ate here almost once a week, so when the new owners came in a few months ago, we still went ahead with our weekly order. Maybe it was due to the transition, but the food was not good at all, so I waited a bit and tried again with the same outcome. I wrote a negative review about it and got a friendly response from the new owners appreciating my feedback and informing me that they were working daily to improve the quality of food and produce the best possible sushi. After a few more months, we gave it another shot and it was really good and has been ever since! We’ve returned to our weekly sushi routine and I’m happy and grateful that the owners actually listen to people’s feedback and we have our weekly sushi routine back....
