This has needed an update for years and let's begin. 6/10/2025 Recently I've took my sister here as we're both trying to avoid foods cooked with a lot of oil like Chinese food. She's a chef and has been in the business for over 40 years and spent the last 6 years as a chef and was managing food trucks in North Carolina. A long distance from her Napa gourmet restaurant roots. Tonight she ordered the lamb souvlaki. I ordered a small chicken shawarma wrap and lentil soup. The chicken shawarma was perfect. Just be warned, it is with pita bread so it's a bit messy of a handheld eat. But what the heck. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked as it was quite tender. Nicely caramelized onions inside. Loved the lentil soup. It had a nice helping of lentils, not just a few little bits floating around as you see in some places. Which now brings me to the lamb souvlaki. Now my doctor insists that I don't eat too much meat and I totally agree. However, I could have eaten this for a week. It was some of the best lamb I have tasted in years, maybe over 20 years. Tasted fresh, it was perfectly tender, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not over salted, thank God which is something a lot of restaurants do with meat, especially grilled meat or meat. kebobs. My sister was very impressed and pretty much polished off the whole thing. She noted that there were no salt and pepper shakers which she totally appreciated because it meant that the cook knew exactly what he or she was doing. I did take that last bit of her grilled zucchini, which in itself was quite delicious.
This was the second time I took her. Last time I had the falafel shawarma wrap and I recommend that as well. I got the large one and it was quite substantial. Sister may have had the chicken souvlaki I don't remember. Just noted down below that I did my first review 6 years ago. I have since returned multiple times quite often bringing family because it's not too crowded, the food is really good and the prices are very reasonable. They do a reasonable amount of takeout which is probably why there aren't as many occupied tables as before.
6 yrs ago Nice greek food, but the french fries. OMG.... sorry short on details as this was a month or two ago....
Read moreWe've been coming here since they opened. Had noted a slight decline in food last couple of visits, but tonight was simply awful. Where to start? The food was just bad. My kafta, which I requested "cooked through" came out nearly raw. I sent it back, and it came back still red inside. Our table also had a beef souvlaki, which came out rare instead of medium, and a lamb kebab, which was overcooked and gray inside. The rice was overcooked and dry, the vegetables (zucchini) were barely cooked at all. Service was abysmal. The server (just 1) spent most of his time taking and organizing phone orders. Serving tables was just an afterthought. It took ten minutes before we even got water. There was no apology for the incorrectly cooked entrees, nor any acknowledgment that our meals went back to the kitchen mostly uneaten. An all around disappointment, and a real shame, because we used to really enjoy dining at Troy. Will...

My babe found Troy mid-Pandemic (was that 1 year ago or 10?), and we’ve been ordering delivery at least once a month since. The basics are delicious. The fries - decidedly not Greek- are double fried and arrive hot and crispy even with a 10-minute drive. Everything else tastes like you are on your favorite beach or in a mountain village looking over the Mediterranean Sea.
We recently adventured out to the Solana location and were as impressed with the food as ever, but the restaurant design left us both confused. It felt like we were in a poorly decorated Italian restaurant in 2002.
So, don’t go for the decor or the ambiance… but go if you like delicious food that can introduce you to a regional cuisine or recall your favorite memories, then go - or...
