Donut Cutter — Restaurant in Berkley

I visit the Donut Cutter family almost every other weekend. I have eaten donuts all over the country and these donuts are the best I have ever had. Hand made donuts (or doughnuts?💭) served by a family dedicated to providing a quality product. It's not easy to serve customers who act like they have never ordered a donut before when it's their time to order. They stare into the abiss of freshly glazed apple fritters, or cinnamon rolls, and have to decide on only one or two, or God forbid a dozen for the family! I feel sorry for the token family member who has to go stand in line and hope the person in front of them doesn't take the last Samoa donut that mom wanted. The stress sometimes is too much for a person and they have to get up at 6AM just to get THE Donut. Thank you Donut Cutter family for your service to the community, without you I wouldn't be able to remember the memories I shared eating donuts with my siblings, parents and grandparents or as I stood in line for my children on a weekend morning at 6 am. OH my god. this is heaven for donut lovers! The staff there is super friendly, efficient, and they work their butts off from open til close. I'm always greated with a smile and I love that they try different ideas for dounts....like some of my favourits, pumpkin cake, lemon poppy seed, and samoa. They also have cookies, choc chip and oatmeal (the oatmeal are to die for) Someone commented on their awesome apple fritters....and they were right. Apple fritters are best I've ever had! HEck, this is the best donut shop I've ever been to. Coffee is delish and will get you going in a matter of seconds. : ) One complain I have is that the small bottles of milk are over $2....way too much to pay for small bottle of milk (I still do buy them when in a pinch) I love that I live close to this place and plan on going there for many...

Most of all locals already know about Donut Cutter and that it was voted best donut. Next thing to do then with eating this best donut is to arrive right when they open at 4am. I'm the type of person who stays up late. So I'll just come by with tons of munchies at this hour. That being said, the donuts are made fresh daily and are coming out hot at this hour. So I enjoy taking a seat at the counter, relaxing and enjoying a variety of donuts. Each tray comes out the oven at different times with steaming hot donuts. Bring cash an appetite and don't forget to tip. Seriously, a super hot fresh donut watching the sugar melt can change your world, or even when it burns the top of your mouth. It did for my fat belly.
