I’m very conflicted about this review.

TLDR: food was great, service and atmosphere was worse than awful.

Sorry in advance for the long review…

I was in the area from out of town and looked up the best cheesesteaks in the area, as we were close(ish) to Philly, and this place kept coming up so I figured it was worth a try.

At around 2:40pm I placed an order for 1 large original cheesesteak, 2 small original cheesesteaks, 1 lamb cheesesteak, and 1 fries on GrubHub for a 3:15 pickup time. We were driving back to Baltimore and planned to leave around 3:30, so I figured that by saying 3:15 it would definitely be ready.

I arrived at 3:45 and the place was empty, to be honest, I wasn’t even sure the place was open or still in business. There were no customers, and no staff to be seen.

I found my way to the back where eventually someone came out. I told him i was there for my GrubHub order to which I was met with empty eyes as if I was spoke a different language. They said that they didn’t have any, and when I showed them my confirmation they looked and realized that their GrubHub system wasn’t on.

I showed them my order and they told me it would 5-8 minutes at most to make it all, so I decided to wait. Fast forward 30 minutes and my food finally comes out. Keep in mind during this time the two employees who worked this side of the place were not to be seen at all as they were in the back area and when another pair of customers came in, they waited for a while as well.

When my food came out I went to my car and realized my order was wrong. They gave me 3 regulars, instead of 1 large and 2 regular, and 0 fries. I went back to get the fries and was told it would take just 1 minutes to scoop them, but 5 min later he comes out with my fries. I was given a very soft and seemingly insincere “sorry”. So 1 hour later then it was supposed to be ready (granted the first 30 min were due to me), I finally got my food.

When I finally ate the cheesesteaks, damn they were good. The original brisket is very smokey, too smokey for my wife, but I loved it, and the lamb was perfection.

I would order again, but make sure to call, don’t order online.

They also have a whole Gluten Free bakery on site that looked awesome.

I totally get mistakes happen and normally wouldn’t have held it against them, but the seemingly insincere apology and the inaccurate timing expectations were very disappointing. If they had told me from the start that it’ll be 20-30 minutes, fine, I’ll make my decision but to tell me 5-8 and then be...

This review is going to be in two parts - Bear with me:

Part 1. - The Man, The Myth, The Legend Today I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner of Seymour's, Larry. What an excellent fellow! Passionate about his "Smoke". 1st time I was ever there and he treated me like an old friend. Inquired about my origin story and was genuinely interested in me. He shared his background as well, and tbh, even IF his food was "just ok" I'd be a returning customer just to support him!

Part 2. - Let's Eat. The menu isn't extensive, but it looks scrumptious enough that it's hard to decide, and with an owner as passionate about what he does, it's hard to pick just one And then a little hand written sign caught my eye - "SMOKED Steak, Egg, & Cheese"... Say Less!!! I'm in!

He says, "It'll change your life."

Now, I'm not saying I found God in my sandwich, but I will say, that if you're a fan of BBQ, it was the best d*mn breakfast sandwich I've ever had.. and I grew up in the South. The steak had such a rich flavor and you could taste the smokiness. The brioche bun was the perfect compliment to the sandwich, not too bready, not to big, just the perfect vessel to get this masterpiece into you mouth.

I drive by this place twice a day and I've wanted to stop for the longest time, and I can only say that maybe I didn't stop because the exterior looks, i don't know, nothing special? Man. DO NOT judge a book by it's cover!

Looking for that hidden local gem... Look no further.. Seymour's more than delivers!

This place is AMAZING!!!! I saw pictures of their breakfast sandwiches pop into my FB page and immediately woke up my Fiance (I'm pregnant) lol and we drove right over. We were greeted by an extremely sweet woman who filled us in on the menu and other meals they offer. It was VERY cute inside - the building used to be Nardi's and then Good to Go foods, I do not know how I've missed this gem for the past 2 years. Guys, stop passing it. GO HERE. The prices were phenomenal- it was around $25 for 3 HUGE STACKED sandwiches and hash browns. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious!! The spices? The meats??? My lord. Perfection. I'll never go anywhere else for a breakfast sandwich again. They've ruined me for anything else. My eyes popped open with that first bite and I couldn't believe how each bite got better somehow. We had the bacon, egg and cheese and the steak egg and cheese to split. I couldn't decide which was better because they were BOTH so different in taste and, legit, PERFECTION. If you are in a rush, call ahead to order because it's all made right then and perfection takes a few minutes to make. My daughter stopped chewing after her first bite and she looked at me like "WHAT?!" lol They're open Thurs- Sun and with these prices, I won't be making breakfast on the weekend ever again. Parking was easy as it's the huge lot right there on the corner of Franklin and 561. Don' take my word for it - go immediately and see...

We've driven by this place dozens of times and finally stopped in. Super friendly owner and staff. The brisket breakfast sandwich and smoked cheesesteak is one of a kind. 😋 So good!

Got a large smoked cheesesteak. I was so hungry and devoured half of it. pretty blown back by the complexity of flavor with Smokey flavors. Only thing lacking to me was sweetness, which I got some bbq sauce on the side for the ribs which upped to near perfection. 22 for a 12 inch is a bit pricey, but worth experiencing. Should have tried their coleslaw would have leveled up the cheesesteak more. The half slab of rib was decent and nice smoke but a bit more dry side. It isn’t over seasoned or sauce to taste the meat. I would come back to try their smoked hoagies. Went a second time, this time saw a burger special for $3 each. Scooped 4 with 2 breakfast sandwiches,(they weren’t doing hoagies when I went anymore) everything was perfectly seasoned which I love, personally hate to eat burgers or eggs and no salt or pepper has touched it. Got some bbq sauce for $1 to add another dimension to the meal. Would come here again.
