I feel a need to respond to Frank Clancey's negative review. The Coffee Shop and the Burger Shop both have EXCELLENT quality food and friendly small town service! Not only did the new owner graduate from the Culinary institute, but Jimmy (long time owner) comes in a couple of times a week to share recipes, assist with prep and just hang out in this very friendly welcoming place! Andreas, the new owner, works his butt off with very long hours. He is a perfectionist so everything is clean and orderly in front as well as in the back. Bernardsville is so lucky to have this wonderful cafe in town! If we listen to bad review's like Frank's, we will get what we deserve - NOTHING! The Burger shop, with its fun menus, adorable outfits, great quality food & friendly wait staff is a much needed and appreciated addition to town. Good job Andreas! My family & many others appreciate how hard you are working to provide a warm, welcoming place with good food at a great value for...
Read moreI have eaten there twice lately once at the Coffee shop and once at the burger shop. First the Burger shop I had the Italian burger, one of the worst higher priced burgers I have ever had, obviously a low quality burger store bought and not hand packed mushy with 0 flavor and way over cooked..., Waffle fries had potential but completely undercooked and white in color, My dinner mate had the mac and cheese burger he also rated as below average with boxed Mac and Cheese.. Best part of the meal was the macaroni salad which surprisingly was delicious. My other dinner mate had a salad with fruit in it which she really enjoyed. (the reason for the second star) Now on to the coffee shop.. Both had omelets eggs totally overcooked with 0 flavor not sure how this place survives.. Home fries totally overcooked and very dry.. Toast was good guess that is something.. I am a huge small business fan and would love to support this place but 11 dollars for a horrible burger is just to...
Read moreMy wife and I stumbled into The Coffee Shop in Bernardsville, and let me just sayâthis place delivers way more than youâd expect from a humble-sounding name.
My wife is gluten-free (not by choice, sadly), but they didnât just accommodate herâthey impressed her. She got a BLT on gluten-free bread that didnât taste like cardboard (a miracle), plus it came with pickles, coleslaw, and rice pudding. For realâwho throws in rice pudding like that? Total steal.
I had eggs and baconâclassic, comforting, and cooked exactly right. Everything came out hot, fast, and with zero fuss.
Shoutout to Melissa, our server, who was warm, attentive, and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time. If youâre in the area, this spot is absolutely worth a detour. Cozy vibes, good food, and high quality gluten-free bread? Weâll be back. PS -...
