Sette — Restaurant in Bernardsville

My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner at Sette. Prior to reserving them for our big dinner, we went to try the food as normal guests first. The food was incredible and the service was great. Allan, the owner, was walking around that evening greeting each guest. When he made his way to our table, we mentioned that we were considering Sette for our rehearsal dinner. Allan went back to check if the day was available and it was. He got us all the information that night and held the reservation for a few days while we weighed options.

We ultimately went with Sette for the dinner, and it was a perfect evening. Allan got us the menu a few days beforehand and allowed us to make slight modifications prior to the event. They served us a delicious 4 course meal plus dessert. Allan was a huge help in planning such a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was perfect, we had the place to ourselves, the food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly.

We would recommend Sette and Allan to anybody looking for a great meal at a more intimate venue. We also recommend Sette as a venue for special events (up to 18 people, we had 17 for ours and we fit perfectly. My boyfriend and I have now been to Sette twice in the past 6 months. Both times we have left with rave reviews. Ambiance is intimate. Very few tables and they book up quickly on OpenTable so be sure to make a reservation a few days in advance if you’re trying to dine here. Also note that they are BYOB.

We have tried multiple dishes as we opted for the prix fixe menu both nights we dined here. Here are some of the highlights: Insalata Stagionale, Pennette Alla Norma (probably the standout dish to me), Cosciotto Di Pollo, Maialino Brasato, Crème Brûlée, Panna Cotta.

Everything we have tried has been amazing. I truly don’t think you can go wrong here. They were very accommodating of my allergies to nuts on both nights. The only thing I couldn’t experience was the bruschetta that they bring to the table as the bread has sesame seeds, but I heard that the bruschetta was amazing so I was sad to pass this up. All in all, I felt very safe with my allergies.
