Happy Goat Gluten-Free Bakery Lanc OH — Restaurant in Berne Township

The food is great and I personally think they have a solid selection as far as local places go. The owner is nice but the gentleman helping her when I went had a slight attitude. Not enough to detract me from going but enough to note.

The biggest negative in my opinion is the way they have their website set up. I understand they are limited by what the service offers but I would personally ditch that service in their shoes.

I will give them credit, their homepage clearly lays out their limitations around holiday ordering. The issue I ran into is that I was sent a direct link to their online ordering portal some time ago. I went directly to the site from that link. Since I didn't visit the homepage I didn't see the special form you had to fill out for Christmas orders. I placed the order as you normally would for the scheduled pickup time.

Fortunately I got lucky and the owner managed to piece together close to what I had ordered with extras she had around. But I have to take a star away for the situation overall. I shouldn't have to check the websites homepage or get lucky to actually receive my order if I'm able to place it and my money is accepted. At the very least the warning needs to be placed on the ordering page itself so the customer can't reach the ordering portal without seeing the warning, though I'd probably still take a star away for that. With so many options available these days I don't think it's unfair to expect a company to have straightforward ordering.

Absolutely worth stopping in if you're in the area during their open hours just approach online ordering with caution as long as they continue...

I have tried so many of the goodies here, and I am pleasantly surprised. Being new to a gluten-free lifestyle (my daughter) is overwhelming. Not willing to go without a birthday cake for her, we decided to try Happy Goat. I was honestly expecting to be at least marginally disappointed, but I was beyond pleased. I absolutely could not distinguish it as gluten-free. Zero disappointed, for sure! The cinnamon rolls are beyond amazing, and every cupcake has been perfect. This little place is amazing! They have tons of gluten free products. They also have lots of spices and just about any kind of chip you wanna put into a cookie or dessert. They have lots of sweet goodies and even bakes delicious and fresh gluten free cupcakes and other baked goods daily. They are very knowledgeable on gluten allergies and are a great source of information. They also has several random things like funny refrigerator magnets, signs and even Ohio State cookie tins.
