So listen, I don’t care what you got goin’ on culinarily but Hugh Baby’s is second to none when it comes to on-demand burger joints. Shake Shack, I said what I said!!
First of all, they make the burgers right in front of you so that’s a bonus right off the bat. Secondly, a lot of places say “fresh, never frozen” but still use premade patties and there’s just something about it that just doesn’t sit right with me (maybe it’s the inability to THOROUGHLY season the meat—not just sprinkling something on top.) When you put in your order at Hugh Baby’s on the other hand, the cook opens a refrigerated drawer of GROUND BEEF! I just know in my heart of hearts that somebody’s uncle or tío is hiding in the back, seasoning that ground beef to the gods. Followed hand rolling it into the perfect sized balls to be flattened only at the moment of grilling—I honestly believe it maintains the integrity and balance of seasoned savoriness to juiciness that in turn releases an explosive flavor bomb of delectable deliciousness!
Now I know everybody ain’t too keen on the red meat, but don’t you worry! They have Veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, and even old school slug burgers too. Now I was not intending on this review to be a my comestible manifesto but Hugh’s just gets it outta me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
So can we get into the lemonade already?! I really would much rather you spend your time eating Hugh Baby’s than reading this review but I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t mention, suggest, nay implore you to at least try the lemonade. Again I know a lot of people say “OuR LeMoNaDe Is FrEsH!” when in all actuality they might freshly mix some kind of concentrated situation in water and call it a day. Not by any stretch of the imagination would this fly at Hugh Baby’s I can almost guarantee you will probably even have a view of a literal mound of lemons in a huge bowl either recently depleted or waiting to be squeezed. Like Nike said, Just Do It.
So I’m gonna wrap up this review right here but before I do, here’s a suggestion:
Maybe it’s the 650 lb. man living inside of me but the forbidden combination that I’ve appropriately dubbed “the Barnyard” is probably one of the most dangerously divine things you’ll ever put in your mouth. It’s their crispy yet juicy chicken sandwich topped with Swiss cheese, a burger patty, cheddar cheese and bacon 🤤 Make sure to get lettuce and tomato too cause you can’t have the chicken, cow and pig and not have at least a little touch of the garden.
…and speaking of the garden for all my Keto kids out there, the way HB does lettuce burgers puts the rest to absolute shame!! I mean there’s a stability in their lettuce burger that I’ve never before witnessed. And they don’t just give you a few pieces of lettuce that will shrivel and wilt away to sheer nothingness by the time you get halfway through it. Like I said before JUST DO IT!
Ok, I’m really done now…I think 🤭 well, for now at least. Next time I’ll remember to take a picture before inhaling the entire...
Read moreThis was our first trip (of course it was during the current pandemic ). We decided to try the booking sandwich, single with bacon and the double. We added a side of fries with comeback sauce (which didn't make it into it order) and a vanilla and chocolate shake. The burger was good, but it really needs to be with everything (which I had) to be the right ratio. It could stand to use slightly more sauce as at times it was a bit dry. Overall, a really good burger though. The double was the right ratio of burger to bun especially over the wife took off onion and pickle. She really enjoyed it. The fries were a little inconsistent. Some we're very salty while others weren't. I do think they would've benefited from the comeback sauce. The shakes were both solid drinks. The chocolate was a tad in the sweet side though as it appears they used a chocolate syrup with vanilla shake to make it. Those is a critical review, and in all honesty it's nitpicking. There's nothing that would turn me off from a return visit. So if you haven't tried Hugh Baby's or even if you've been numerous times I would recommend making a trip to support a great burger company in the current...
Read moreI've been here twice. The first time was about a month ago. It was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Based on that delightful experience, I decided to go back this past Sunday. It was like a completely different restaurant. The food was terrible. I sent several friends here too, b/c I was so impressed with the place, I'm kind of embarrassed to ask them how it was? This place is very inconsistent.
I ordered the exact same thing both times, too. A BBQ Burger, & Chili Cheese Fries. Definitely a once-a-week "Cheat Meal", kind of thing. The first time, the burger was perfectly seasoned, & the BBQ was very smoky & deliciously flavorful. The fries were very crispy, underneath excellent Chili, & cheese.
The second time almost none of that was the case. The burger had no flavor at all! It was almost as if they had forgotten to solve the patty. Another strange thing was that the hamburger was in little bitty pieces for some reason... Strange. No smoke flavor in the pork, whatsoever. Also the fries very very soggy, & the chili was good tho. That was about it.
I've never had such a decrease in quality from one visit to the next at a restaurant before... Not sure what...
