UPDATE: We appreciate Bethel Bakery reaching out to us and doing what it could to make things right.

We hired Bethel Bakery for our wedding cake. We had such high hopes given all the great things we had heard about the company, but I’m so disappointed in our experience. Our cake looked VERY DIFFERENT from the design we discussed and was just very sloppily done. The photos below show the difference in what we wanted versus what we ended up with. We did in fact want only two tiers and the cake was supposed to include the style of the top tier and the bottom tier of the sample photo. The geometric design we wanted looks very little like the photo we provided. I can’t understand why the strips weren’t cut to be thinner to match the design we discussed. We also ended up with the style of the second tier rather than the top tier. This did not seem like a complex design but if it was too difficult to replicate, we wish someone would have just let us know. We would have happily gone with a simpler style.

The planning process was a constant struggle. Any time we had a meeting we had to start from scratch and re-explain the details of our wedding and the cake we wanted. When we had our finalization meeting to settle on the design and quantity, the consultant thought we were doing our initial tasting which had happened several months prior. She had no record of our initial meeting or any info about our wedding. There was also a lack of communication as to how and when the cake would be delivered and we had to follow up multiple times in the days leading up to the wedding.

On top of all that, we have 3 leftover back-up cakes (that I believe serve 25 people each) and I’m pretty sure we were told to order enough cake for 200 guests when we only had 141 guests. Last but not least, we ordered and paid for a separate cupcake for a guest with a nut allergy who could not eat the white almond cake and it was not provided.

The cake tasted great but the exterior looked so bad and the overall process was very stressful. We had heard so many great things about Bethel Bakery and are so shocked to have had such a...

Bethel Bakery made our wedding cake, and they did an amazing job! They were communicative, professional, and organized leading up to the wedding. Rather than hosting an in-person tasting, Bethel provided us a to-go order of 6 cupcakes with their most popular batters and 6 of their most popular fillings/frostings. After we tasted the cakes, we had Zoom call with one of their wedding reps to discuss our guest count, details, and preferences. I requested an additional tasting to try some of their other cake flavors and fillings that they had listed online, so that we could try everything. They were accommodating in this request and help create a custom order for us. We selected a chocolate batter/peanut butter frosting and a spice cake/cream cheese frosting for our wedding. Although unusual wedding cake flavors, we loved our cake and so did guests. The cake was fresh, moist, and the frosting was smooth and velvety. Sometimes wedding cakes are over/underbaked, but Bethel did a great job. We chose a simple small design on the cake, so that our florist could add pressed flowers, but it looked clean and perfect. Bethel also lent us a cake stand for the event that was $50, so long as we returned the stand within 5 days. This can be difficult for couples going on their honeymoon immediately afterwards like us, so be aware that you'll lose the deposit if it can't be returned. One huge perk of booking with Bethel is that they provide you a voucher for a free cake on your anniversary, so you don't have a save a freezer burnt cake for a year. I highly recommend Bethel for...

We ordered our cake from Bethel Bakery for our 9/30/23 wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous and delicious too! We did pay a bit extra for our bottom gold tier but loved the look of it. All staff members we interacted with were kind and knowledgeable and took note of what we wanted. We purchased our cake separate from our venue, even though they were one of the recommended bakeries. This allowed us to tailor how many flavors and slices of cake we actually wanted. We chose three flavors and had them sliced and plated on a table, as opposed to served to all guests, to eliminate waste and allow for guest selection. Even our three tier wedding cake had two of the flavors. We enjoyed all three choices and particularly love how their buttercream is tasty and not overly sweet. Bethel also coordinated with our florist so fresh flowers could be used on our cake. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and were blown away by how delicious and fresh our top tier stayed in the freezer. I would definitely recommend going with their almond cake with raspberry buttercream filling! The chocolate cake with cookies & cream buttercream and lemon cake with lemon buttercream were delicious too.

The only thing we wished we got to experience was the in-person tasting. I went to my friend's tasting at Bethel pre-COVID and it was really enjoyable. The at-home/virtual tasting allows for more people to enjoy, but I do hope they bring the in-person option back for...
