Bring a quarter for the cart (you get it back) and your own bags.
Great prices, but limited variety - but what they have, is good.
Grocery shopping has recently been high for everyone, and I started seeing reddit posts about Aldi being the choice to save money.
I used to go to Aldi, but at that time I found choices limited and saving minimal - not the same state in '24.
I just did a "big shop" and dropped $173 - I'd guess about $250 in GE.
I purchased: pantry, deli, produce, and meats.
Some protein prices: I purchased 2lb salmon at $8.49lb, typically I see it for $11-13.99 at GE. About 3lb of ground beef for about $15, 4 pork cutlets (thick sliced) for about $5, 3 sirloin steaks for $5.49, 2-3lb of chicken breasts for about $12, breakfast sausages and bacon.
Limitations on produce options. Maybe 4 choices of lettuce, 3 choices of apples, 1 choice of pear, 2 choices of orange, and 1 choice of strawberry - to give you an idea
Prices aren't always much better. Some items, mostly brands, you're not going to see a huge saving... But that's to be expected.
What I didn't buy: ice cream, sodas, our favorite frozen fries, one or two fruit and veg that weren't there. Why I didn't buy, they didn't have the options I was looking for.
Tip: pack your bags to the back left after checkout, if you have a lot, there is a...
Read moreWhile I was in line yesterday 7/30/19 at 4:47PM, I listened to the clerk tell the woman in front of me that the grand opening $5 off $30 coupon was expired. She asked the clerk if she could just leave the purchase be as she only purchased it because of the coupon. I observed the clerk treating the woman in front of me very rudely as she rolled her eyes in front of her (and me for that matter), and then proceeded to call someone with a very irritated and mocking tone. I could tell the patron was confused and trying to reread the coupon but horrified and so she just walked away. I, now convinced that my coupon was expired and not wanting the same treatment, put aside two cases of pure aqua water and just got my veggies. Once I got home, my husband pointed out that this coupon was still good (7/24 - 7/30) when I was there at 4:47 PM. The clerk should be ashamed of herself for treating that woman the way she did whether the coupon was expired or not; the fact that she turned away that woman - and indirectly me - is even more of an offense and insult. This store has been recently renovated. It’s sad that some of the workers there aren’t yet renewed and trained in patience and courtesy; perhaps it would be my...
Read moreThis review concerns an employee named Shannon, who was extremely rude to me during an Instacart pickup today. I frequently shop in-store and use curbside pickup through Instacart, but I've never had a negative experience until now. After receiving notification that my order was ready, I clicked "I'm on my way" as I always do. When I arrived, I clicked "I'm here" and typed in my parking spot number. However, Shannon told me not to click "I'm on my way" in the future. When I asked why, she said she had to keep checking on my order because she didn't know if I was there or not. I explained that I've never had an issue with this process before, and Shannon couldn't provide a reason for her concerns. She then aggressively threw my grocery bags into my trunk and slammed the door shut. When I asked for her name, she reluctantly replied, "Shannon." I pointed out that there's a problem with the app, but an even bigger problem with her behavior. She shrugged and walked away, which I found...
