Colonial Beer — Restaurant in Bethel Park

Colonial Beer. I've been there twice, once Friday and once today. Today will be my last day shopping there.

I hit a growth spurt late in life, and when I renewed my driver's license 3/4 years ago, I was 5'5". The height on my license has been a bit off for awhile. I've used it in bars and restaurants and beer distributors over the years with absolutely no issue. California, Nevada, Texas, Florida; just some of the places I've gone over the last few years and used the very same identification to buy beer and party at bars. Drank at the airport in every one of those places as well. No one has ever commented on the height discrepenacy except for one casino in Lake Tahoe (who let me in after explaining).

On Friday 10/31 I picked up a case of pretzel beer that I've been searching for- I found it at Colonial Beer. I loved it, but my buddy Rich drank the rest of them. I came back to grab another case today before the season ended and was DENIED service due to the height on my ID. I attempted to explain myself but it was to avail. The lady at the register was not very accomodating and quick to take unnecessary action. I am 27 years old, born in 1998, and I can provide every bit of proof. I would have had a better time using my ID at TSA or a DUI checkpoint. She suggested I get my license fixed, but I think I will wait until it expires ... This is my second time visiting this beer store, and both times have been disappointing. The older white male cashier with white hair is extremely rude and lacks basic customer service skills. I don’t even drink — I just stop by to grab cigars when I’m in the plaza — but each time I’ve greeted him politely and he says nothing back, just stares like I don’t belong there. This is a great place to buy your beer! The customer service harkens back to an earlier time, it's fantastic! But, probably the best thing about Colonial is, Andrea! If you need a special beer, she's the one person who will probably find it for you. Aside from that, she always has a smile on her face and is extremely helpful.
