Golden Wok Inn — Restaurant in Bethel Park

I will not order from here ever again. I’ve been coming here for about 15 years and it’s always been delicious and great service, till recently. They are letting their teenage daughters run golden wok inn into the ground! The last three times I’ve placed an order, two to go and one dine in, they have either gave me the wrong meal from what I ordered completely or I’m told 15-20 minutes and waited 40 minutes with no other customers in the entire restaurant. Ever since the very young daughters started taking care of the phone and front desk, the restaurant has absolutely Plummeted! When I called to let them know I was given the wrong order Kent, the owner, just repeatedly giggles says “ooooohhhhhhh, oooooohhhhh” and then told me to drive back and return the wrong entree. when I opened the replacement meal, it looked like half was missing. Absolutely pathetic service. If anything they should have given extra considering this was three times in a row they messed it up and I had to drive 20 minutes each way! Like I said...

SCAM BEWARE

After I received the price, it seemed too high so, I ran the numbers from the menu myself and it was too high. I then asked if they had a delivery fee. They said no.

So, when the delivery lady gets here, I tried to explain how my bill was approx. $4 higher than what it should be. She then tells me, “oh we charge $3 deliver fee”

Even with the fee, the numbers didn’t add up. I say whatever and then she doesn’t have appropriate change for me as she’s short a couple bucks….

I delivered for over ten years growing up and through college. Never once have I ever seen such a botched transaction. Can’t help but feel like they were banking on me not catching the delivery fee. Then, once I did, how convenient she came back from her car short a few bucks.

Either this was the most unfortunate coincidence I’ve been apart of ordering food or, it was a few clever tricks to get more money out of me. My gut tells me it was the latter.

I used to go to a smaller Chinese restaurant down the street in Castle Shannon, but recently, they have made the portions smaller and smaller. I decided to try Golden Wok Inn because of their high reputation and I am so glad I did! I ordered the black pepper chicken stir fry and it was delicious! I could taste the fresh vegetables and the flavorful sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy at the same time. I didn't get discomfort or bloated afterwards like I usually do with takeouts. The customer service was really nice and warm too. The woman who rang me up was nice. Despite the other comments, I would definitely recommend trying this place for yourself. This is a small business which I see has gotten negative comments as if they are some large chain restaurant. People need to remember local small businesses are trying their best to...
