At first we were a little wary about dining here. The restaurant is in an old Pizza Hut building, and the outside could use some rehab. But once inside our fears were put to rest. The interior is very clean and modern. The bathrooms were clean. We used to dine often at the Sesame Inn on Washington Road, but it just became too expensive for us. Whereas at Rice Inn, we had two meals, two egg rolls, and an appetizer of crispy beans for just $56. I got the orange chicken (pictured). It was very tasty, and if you’re the kind of person who eats only white meat chicken, it’s clearly labeled on the menu which dishes come with white meat. My only drawback to eating here was that the broccoli was a bit tough, not steamed long enough, and it was cold. But other than that, I loved my meal and will definitely go back.

Updated review 2021: We came here for dinner this past weekend. We were the only guests that time so it was quiet. The appetizer came in five minutes and the entrees came in another 10 minutes. The food was very good like I remembered it. We got green curry with eggplant and Singapore rice noodles. I was most impressive when a staff member came to our table with boxes and put the food in the boxes for us! Bonus points for that woman because I had a long day and I was very tired so I appreciate the kind gesture. Original review 2018: I have been here twice. The food here is great. We tried pad thai and general tso's chicken. It's a huge serving at an affordable price. They speak Cantonese here, if you are curious. :)

A bit pricy but the good was good. Service was prompt and friendly. The shrimp tempura had only 2 small shrimps in it and the other 4 were without - I've never seen them like that before. For the price of the food I would have expected flashy menus enticing me to buy the higher end food items. Instead, The menus were very boring and all text - which was too bad I might have bought more and more expensive items as I am a visual person. The decor was just ok - like the food, nothing really stood out. I wanted to like it but it was... ok. Not bad, not great but good for a quiet night out. I will say, that I did like that the ginger salad was large, but that also explained the $6 price point.

Running around doing errands and was craving some Chicken Pad Thai. (Lately I've been trying out different cultural foods and Chicken Pad Thai is one I've taken a liking to)

The place was completely empty of customers when I pulled up but I read the reviews before coming so just attributed it being like 3 pm on a weekday as the reviews for this place were good.

Ordered my meal and it was served to me extremely quickly, I couldn't believe how fast it was ready. I imagine it's not cooked to order as there is no way it would have been ready that fast. But to be fair most places probably have things prepared ahead of time to a certain degree.

The portion was HUGE lol I wasn't expecting that much food so I ordered a side of brown rice with it. I got through about 1/3 of the meal before I was stuffed. Then they will pack your food up for you in to go containers and give it back. Had left overs for me to split it between my father and I for another meal.

The Chicken Pad Thai is the only thing I've had from there (besides the rice) so I can't comment on their food in general. However, the food I ordered was Very good and Had good flavor. It wasn't bland and had multiple flavors and spices to it and wasn't over powering either.

The staff was nice and I really didn't have any problems with my visit. I really enjoyed it. As a bonus I watched the Space-X Heavy rocket test launch while there as was the staff lol. I was the only customer really so I'm not going to fault the staff for watching a historic event on T.V .

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting some bang for their buck as I eat two meals and gave some to my father for like $13 with how much food I got.

Will be going...

Tried this place 2 times--first time had sushi because of MSG allergies...staff informed me they do use MSG--we stayed inside restaurant for sushi/not take out--it was ok--place was relatively empty. Due to MSG use here, I had no desire to go back, even though very convenient--but I went back about 3 years after the sushi dinner and...UGH! Awful--ordered take out which was Pad Thai--gross tasting! I love Pad Thai but this tasted so different from every other place I ever had it--and in several different states and restaurants....My Thai in Mt. Lebo--YUM--a Thai place in strip district, yum. Not at Rice Inn--but my question is this....why not pick a cuisine and master it--whether it is Japanese, Chinese, or Thai? How can Rice Inn do all? They cannot. We will never go back. Felt awful after eating small portion of Pad Thai/what I purchased, then threw it out. My child said same thing--strangest taste. Also, rather expensive for one order of Pad Thai. Also, upon walking into Rice Inn to place my order...the carpeting toward seating was wet, sticky....lady at entrance said they had a water leak--?? It seemed dingy and dirty which alarmed me--if this is at entrance, what does kitchen look like? Silk Road is much better and you can get MSG free food--so many places do not use MSG--should always be an option for those who have allergies--Honeymoon Chinese on 88 is MSG free--taste better than Rice Inn...IMO Honeymoon better but not great, so still in search of a GOOD Chinese...

Absolutely horrible. The restaurant is dirty and cold on a 45’ day. The workers are wearing hoodies an coats on restaurant floor and in kitchen! Staff is slow I had to repeatedly ask for napkins, drink, my bill the staff is hard to understand and doesn’t take in consideration what you were asking. I had to send back my water because it had stuff floating in it. She didn’t even give us a chance to order anything other than water. Once we did place our orders it’s a forever for them to come out once they came out which I ordered a house ginger salad which the lettuce was crispy the cucumbers were sour and the ginger dressing was sour. I also ordered chicken and green beans the only thing good about that meal was the steamed rice. The brown sauce used for the chicken and green beans with thick gravy like consistency. The chicken was gummy. I also got an eggroll that tasted like it got freezer burnt and came out of a box! What I ended up paying for lunch for two people is absolutely ridiculous because we didn’t have any of it! Their was 1 woman working the complete restaurant. And 2 woman staying at register doing nothing. I even expressed my bad experience for my very first experience to the woman at the register and all they said was I’m sorry! I would highly recommend that you never go into...
