Was planning an event with approximately 20 people. Called weeks ahead of time to make a reservation for their outdoor patio. Was told they would not take reservations on weekends, so fine, we decided we would show up and try to get seated on a first come-first serve basis. When the first members of my group arrived and told the waiter they were waiting for more people to join, a manager asked for timing so they could “reserve the space” for the additional members. After not being able to give an exact time where all members would be present (mind you, we were planning to sit at separate tables and not asking for any special treatment for a group), the manager rudely walked away expressing his disinterest and inability to help.
Then, when the final members of our group showed up, with 2 dogs, the manager came out and tried to kick us out for having the dogs on the outdoor patio. I had called two times prior to confirm that dogs were permitted outdoors. Two people on the phone told me that yes, the patio was dog-friendly. When I told the manager about these interactions, he accused me and my party members of lying about the phone calls, stating that he is the one who “ALWAYS” answers the phone, meanwhile, I had talked to two women on the phone who both put me on hold while they checked to confirm that the patio was dog-friendly. The manager argued with us for 5 minutes, accusing us of lying, stating that “everybody knows that we can’t take dogs”. Finally, after arguing, he said that we could take the dogs and sit in the corner table. However, we then had to BEG for service at that table.
My party of 20 people chose this specific restaurant because I had been told twice that it was dog-friendly. Manager should make sure that their staff is on the same page so others don’t end up in this situation. Very disappointing attitude and customer service, will not be returning based on...
Read moreI've had a lot of Mexican food all over the country and this is the worst I've ever had. Start with the chips and salsa. Chips: plain and stale. They need salt, lime, freshness, temperature, something. Salsa - water with tomato. First place my wife and I have never finished a bowl of chips and salsa.
Service: we were originally brought to a table that still had drinks on it. Plenty of staff standing around chatting. You have to get the core fundamentals down. Our server refused to look at my wife so halfway through I stopped talking to make her look and respond to my wife.
Food: Don't call it birria unless it's got flavor. Tasted like stew meat. And birria should never be in a flour tortilla unless you make it a quesabirria, covered and fried in cheese. Consomme had no flavor either.
Somebody forgot about my order so my wife patiently waited 10 minutes for my burrito to arrive. She had the carne asada, this was not seasoned like it. Tasted like a plain steak which was fine. Carne asada needs real seasoning and lime juice. It should also NEVER come with flour tortillas, only corn. Or at least ask us what kind.
I had the pastor burrito. I couldn't finish it. No flavor in the meat, most of the flavor was pineapple. Fillings were there. The sauce on the side was actually good. Only thing that made the burrito edible.
The end: It took a long time to get the check and then the bill back to pay and sign. I had such high hopes for the place and it was a giant let down. I've had Mexican food in the most isolated towns up near the Canadian border that were hundreds of times better. You can cater to the people around without...
Read moreFriendly staff, decent service, horrible food.
The host and waitress were both very friendly, but I had some issues with having to ask for my drink and side dish twice because they forgot the first time. I also asked for a chicken/steak combo for my burrito which ended up coming with a $3 up charge I was not made aware of.
The food took way longer than expected to come out considering there were only three other tables there.
The food itself was definitely the worst part. There were three of us and our bill was $85. One appetizer, three entrees, and two soft drinks.
The food itself is what really brought the score down.
My wife's beef tasted like canned Hormel chili.
My son's chicken had some sort of weird aftertaste.
My burrito was dry, and my steak was dry as well. Super overcooked, not tender, and no flavor. The cilantro lime sauce for my burrito didn't taste like cilantro or lime. It kind of tasted like Big Mac sauce.
My side of refried beans was an odd color and had no flavor either.
All the food seemed like what someone would interpret Mexican food to be, but definitely no where near where it should.
I've been to many Mexican restaurants in this area, and a few different emiliano's and this one had the worst food out of all of them by far.
It was one of those dinners that makes you question why you even go out to eat instead of cooking...
