Fat Tony's Deli & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Bethel

It seems like Fat Tony enjoys being passive agreessive in his responses to reviews and that doesn't sit right with me, so I decided to write my first ever Google food review.

Note: I ordered delivery from DoorDash, I live fairly close but was just lazy. The food arrived relatively fast and there were no mistakes with my order.

I spent around $60 for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, The Soprano, an order of fried mozzarella balls, and the steak and cheese egg rolls.

The bacon egg and cheese (with hash brown) - Very solid, best thing I ordered.

Steak and cheese egg rolls - Solid item, a bit expensive for the serving size in my opinion.

The Soprano (+ broccoli rabe) - I AM VERY FAT AND IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH FOR ME TO FINISH EATING WHAT I PAY FOR REGARDLESS OF QUALITY!!! That being said, I was legitimately unable to take more than 2 bites. The sandwich was dry, the chicken cutlet was slightly burnt which overpowered the underwhelming flavor of the whole sandwich. The cheese was rubbery, and the broccoli rabe was almost inedible and uncooked.

Mozz balls (pesto) - Perhaps my mistake for ordering with pesto but the mozz balls were soggy instead of crunchy, surprisingly dry, and very unflavorful. Redeemed only by the dipping sauce, which in my opinion should not be necessary.

Fat Tony's is new to Bethel and I am cautiously aware and understanding of how negative reviews can affect a business, especially this early on in its lifespan. But I take issue with a high asking price, for frustratingly mediocre/unbalanced dishes.

I was willing to give Fat Tony's another try until I saw the rude, negative, and stubborn attitude the owner seems to have about his product and his restaurant. Definitely not someone I'd like to support,...

After my experience last night, I had to leave a review.

I ordered 2 Cheese Pizza's last night 06/12/2025 after a long day at work. Not wanting to cook for my kids and my wife, I decided to give Fat Tonys a try after recently moving here from New York. As I was walking in with my 3 year old son, the place was extremely clean and well organized. Not only that but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I got asked at least 3 times if I have been helped already or needed help. Now here is where I needed to leave a review. After giving my son a Pizza to help me carry it out as he wished, he dropped it. Not only was the pizza all over the floor but now, my 3 year old son was having a tantrum in the middle of the deli with other customer's/workers around. About 15 seconds after, there was a man behind the counter. That man came running out from behind the counter and helped me pick up the pizza my son just dropped and not only that but, reassured us that there would be a new pizza made for us in 10 minutes at no additional charge. I found out later, he was the owner of not only Fat Tony's but 2 other restaurant's in town as well, Notch 8 and Shakedown Street Eat's. After engaging in a great conversation our new pizza was ready, he gave my son a cookie and we went on our way. This small act of kindness definitely made me a lifetime customer.

I look forward to trying Notch 8 as my other son loves music. We will definitely be back to Fat Tony's and I look forward to trying Shakedown Street Eat's on mine and my wife's next date night. From me to you, Thank You Tony. Your act of kindness doesn't...

The food here is great but honestly the service is absolutely atrocious. Completely takes away from the experience. I ordered a pizza online at 5 PM and had pick up for 6:45 And I completely understand places being busy but they take on too many orders I got there at 6:45 exactly. Saw how busy it was and waited an extra 5 mins. I went in at 6:50 and was told my pizza would be another 20-25 minutes… so basically how long it takes to make a pizza. I’m sorry but if I schedule my pizza almost 2 hours in advance it should be ready on time or at least within 5 mins. Staff didn’t really seem to care and were completely disheveled and confused. The register girl tried to ask if the pizza was ready and no one would respond to her and were too busy arguing about orders. Completely unprofessional individuals working there. They should hire new staff or teach their workers how to be polite. The register girl was the only nice one. Completely ridiculous… the pizza is good enough to come back but honestly the service enough makes me want to stay away until they...
