For Pete's Sake Delicatessen — Restaurant in Bethel

I've been to this deli before and usually enjoy it. Buts its always been for breakfast...

Today, I had ordered a 4 traditional cheesesteak grinders, 1 cheesesteak on a wrap, and a chicken cutlet sandwich. I used online ordering as I have done many times before. The options for toppings don't list those typically on a cheesesteak - which everyone knows are grilled onions and peppers. So I did write in the comments for all 5 grinders, "Typical cheesesteak toppings, please."

The food was ready on time and I brought it back to 5 starving men who'd been working out in the heat all day and looking forward to a good lunch and a cold soda.

1st, I was shocked at the size of the wrap... literally half the length of the grinders, despite not being any cheaper.

2nd: zero toppings. I'm not even certain any of them had cheese, and i specified "American cheese." The sandwhiches were bone dry, like the meat had been previously cooked, cooled, and was warmed up in the microwave. (I'm sure that's not what happened, but that's the best description). My father in law had 2 bites and gave the rest to the dog.

I'm embarrassed to have brought this food. Planet Pizza would have been better.... and because I ordered online and took the food home, I don't really think there's much I can do about it. But I will not be...

I had the Neapolitan chicken sandwich, which was the best sandwich I have ever had in my life! The sandwich had chicken, basil, tomato, fresh mozzerella, dressing and roasted pepper.

The sandwich stayed in tact entire time because it had the proper proportions of everything and no one ingredient was overpowering. The ingredients were all very fresh and the chicken was bread nicely, not soggy or crispy. There was a light dressing, enough to give the sandwich more flavor, but just the right amount that it didn't make a mess. I highly recommend this deli if you have not eaten here already, and the Neapolitan...

I am a frequent customer of Pete's sake and have been coming there for the last 7 years, Ann-Marie and the team are awesome and I go out of my way in the morning to get my breakfast there when I can.

The team knows me by name and I'm delighted with the quality, taste and simplicity of the food. I get my usual bacon and and cheese with tomatoes knowing that i'm getting real eggs and none of the processed stuff.

There is a real friendly atmosphere which I like. A customer did post about feeling discriminated on. I can say that i've never felt that way because of my race and am sure that other customers...
