"The best falafel in the D.C. area" is what someone told me. A very bold claim, I had to check it out for myself. After eating their standard falafel sandwich with all the fillings except for tomatoes, the claim may be true. (Though, I'll always love Falafel Inc for their flavor, mission, and price.) Here's my experience.

  1. Food: Their menu is simple, but mighty. Their specialty is the falafel sandwich with all the toppings, but they also sell meat kabobs and other goodies on rice.

I ordered the falafel sandwich with all the toppings except for tomatoes. The falafel comes in two patties rather than balls. It's so good. The pickled veggies and sauces add a kick. It's truly phenomenal!

  1. Service: The two men behind the counter were very helpful and passionate about what they are building. It's excellent!

  2. Space: The building is very unique. With a dome roof, it's small, but mighty. The only seating is outside, but it works.

  3. Area: It's in old Bethesda. Street parking is easier to find during non-peak hours. Otherwise, consider walking or...

Dalia’s Falafel has quickly become a local favorite of mine. It’s hard not to love a place with a great story—and even better food. I first heard about Dalia’s from The Organic Butcher, who told me about a little sandwich stand that was seriously punching above its weight, serving up locally sourced, organic meats. Naturally, I had to check it out. When I walked in, I was greeted with big smiles from Ben and Kevin—two high school friends who grew up in the area and clearly have a real passion for food. That welcoming vibe, paired with the incredible flavors, instantly won me over. Now, it’s a full-on family favorite. (I won’t publicly admit how many of their chicken schnitzel pitas I go through in a week… but it’s a lot 😄). It feels good supporting a small, local business that’s not only rooted in the community but also committed to a sustainable, local...

My husband and I love trying local restaurants so we decided to check out Dalia's Falafel, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise! Unlike the typical falafel houses we've visited, this one offers a unique twist on the classics.

Cody and Kevin, the friendly faces behind the counter, made our experience truly memorable. Their genuine enthusiasm and personalized recommendations added a special touch to our meal.

The menu features authentic falafel with a diverse selection of proteins and sauces, making for a refreshing change from the usual fare. It's clear that Cody and Kevin are passionate about more than just serving food; they're all about building a sense of community.

We'll definitely be coming back for more, and we'll be sure to recommend this spot to our friends and family. If you're in the mood for falafel with a twist, give this...

One of the best falafels I've ever had! I had the pleasure of meeting the team Ben, Cody, and Emma. Ben and Cody, the owners, are following Ben's mother's falafel recipe. The business has been going on 3-months, and the food does not disappoint! Instead of a ball, Dalia's shapes their falafels into patties, which is SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!! Aside from the shape, the two falafel patties in the pita are seasoned very well. It's paired with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, pickles, shredded carrots, red cabbage, and tahini sauce. The falafel pita was very filling, and I couldn't finish it in one meal. The tahini sauce is spectacular, but I wish they put more into the pita. No worries, though, because I will definitely be back and ask for extra sauce!

No decision anxiety here, the menu is pretty simple and as the name implies, the featured item is falafel. And it is an excellent falafel sandwich with fresh pita. They fry and smash the falafel and it comes with an impressive complement of free trimmings: cucumber, carrots, tomato, onion, pickles, radish, and cabbage. You can also splurge and throw in some fried eggplant, egg, or extra falafel. The flavor is perfect. Flawless preparation. Up there with Falafel Inc IMO. I had mine with a generous portion of fries and I was stuffed. The staff is very friendly and engaging. No seating inside, so grab yours to go or grab a seat in the open courtyard directly outside.
