Service: I have been wanting to visit hip flask for months now and I finally got to visit to celebrate my birthday! We visited on a Friday night around 10pm (I was worried there would be no seats because the rooftop bar doesn't take any reservations). They allowed us to bring in a cake and the service was phenomenal. Alfredo, the manager was super kind enough to check on us and bring us champagne on the house. In all my experience with managers I've never had a manager who went above and beyond like Alfredo! He went above and beyond to even provide us plates and take our pictures after his shift was over.
Ambiance: The ambiance of the bar is absolutely gorgeous, the outdoor area is spacious and they actually provided us blankets! It would be nice if they provided fire pits (similar to how urban roast in DC has theirs). I'm not sure if as it gets closer to winter if they provide outdoor heaters, but that would be very much needed! The indoor bar area was pretty dark and provided a intimate aesthetic. The bathroom was beautiful as well! Parking was readily available, there are several garages in the area within walking distance and street parking also available. Parking was free when we arrived at 10pm on a Friday night.
Food/drinks: I got a few shots and the Nikiwi, the nikiwi was delicious! My friends got other cocktails on the menu (i forgot which ones they got) but we all pretty much stayed the same thing that the cocktails were not as strong and pretty sweet! We got the crab cakes and wings. Most of my friends didn't like the wings (4/10) and everyone said the crab cakes were pretty good (7/10).
Overall I will definitely return again because of the service we received from Alfredo and other staff members and the overall aesthetic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely amazing rooftop! We parked in the garage across the street which was not expensive at all. Upon arrival to the rooftop we were greeted by a very kind young lady. There were no seats inside so my friend and I sat on the patio. Erick was very nice and offered us complementary blankets to keep warm which I thought was a great touch. We eventually went inside and the food and drinks were delicious. We ordered a raspberry lemon drop and the accidental tourist. Both drinks were good and beautifully presented. For food we ordered the deviled eggs, the crab & corn dip (which had lump crabmeat in every scoop), the mango habanero wings, and the mumbo wings. I wasnāt a fan of the mango habanero dry rub but everything else was delicious. Every server we interacted with went above and beyond to offer great service including Olivia and Gio. The vibe was great. I wish I took photos. Iām sure on a day with better weather you can see a beautiful sunset over Bethesda. Overall amazing experience and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter dinner at Seventh State Restaurant and Lounge, we were looking forward to meeting friends at Hip Flask Rooftop. Because they were at capacity, we had to wait until people came down, which was about 15 minutes. When we arrived at Hip Flask Rooftop, we were told we had to order from the bar as there's no bar service outdoors. The bar was packed so it took awhile to place a drink order. Eric was knowledgeable about the menu. I was looking for something fruity and he recommended Banana Daiquiri and Marmalade Skies. The Banana Daiquiri consisted of Bacardi 4yr Rum, Plantation Rum, Banana, and Lime shaken and served over the rocks. The Marmalade Skies consisted of Haku vodka, white peach juice, yuzu, and brut rose, shaken and served over the rocks. Both of the drinks were sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The rooftop had a nice view of the parking garages, traffic lights, and Mormon Temple. I didn't enjoy the warm...
