La Catrina Lounge — Restaurant in Bethesda

This is my second time here. First time was in October for my Bday everything was 10/10 we went on Friday because I like mariachis. Now the second time was last Friday our server was very friendly and nice food taste was really good too but the mariachi old lady ( because they have like 2 other young ladies) was very rude she had a very nasty attitude with me. We came around 8:30 for a big group celebration night when she came to our table she asked my friend what song she likes, after that song I asked her in a nice tone and attitude if she sing a song for me SHE JUST LOOKED at me in a nasty way and very rude told me that it was some people across the restaurant waiting for them to play a song, my response was you know what is ok, it’s fine don’t worry!! When I said that she gave me a very nasty looked again and that’s when I asked her what was her problem with me? She just continue with her rude attitude, laugh and left. After she went across the restaurant to sang she came back straight to my friend and asked her what song did she wants. Just to showed up that she would asked some one else but not me. So she definitely had issues with me. Some people on our table looked her attitude and told me that they saw that and asked me if I knew the lady. I never ever saw her in my life before. I requested to talk to the manager she apologized with me I don’t know if the general manager knows about this situation but it was a very awkward moment and I hope they tell this woman she needs to CHANGE HER NASTY ATTITUDE FOR NO REASON. That’s why I just give 2 stars to this...

It was ok, I'll try the food next time. I get it lease is pretty high in Bethesda, but them drink prices are wild. It's been a while since I gone to a bar lounge. It also wouldn't be fair to compare it to Thailand bars or clubs, then it be 1 star for sure. Compared to D.C it's around the same level. Like most places they really ride of the vibe people in groups bring to there establishments. If i was them I definitely would see how clubs and lounges be in other countries, specifically southeast Asian countries. You could definitely really be lit. Bring in more customers, attract single man to spend more. From what I saw you got to many on the payroll and they doing way to little. I lived in Bethesda for 10 years, I remember yall open up right after covd.19 if memory serves correctly, and only untill last night did I feel like checking the spot out. Didn't expect much and I was pretty much right. Hope this is taken as constructed criticism. You definitely have potential to beat the competition. It is tough though most locals got there favorite spots already even though they would definitely get 2 stars to 1 from me. I seen what places can be and honestly most places here in the states won't ever put that effort to meet those standards. They to stuck in their ways I guess. I definitely will try the food next...

I went for my birthday on 8/18 and went back the next night 8/19. The first night we had Miguel and Tatiana as our host and server. The second night we had Fernando.Even the manger recognized we were there two nights in a row. All the servers we awesome in my opinion. The food and drinks were a 10/10 in my opinion. My hubby had the whole rock fish on night #1 I had the special salmon, scallops, and shrimp wrapped in bacon. I don’t eat pork, so I unrolled the bacon off of my shrimp and went in! The second night I had enchiladas with green sauce, rice and beans. My husband had carne asada with mushrooms, esquite, rice and beans. Cocktails I would recommend Jarrito, Pineapple and Coconut Margarita. The salsa and chips are so fresh! So fresh I ordered a container of salsa to take home. The staff was very attentive to my food allergies and made sure no eggs or nuts where in my food. The birthday cake was good as well. Prices for us were reasonable, I don’t know folks financial situation, but the prices were decent. Friday they have mariachi band, and Saturday at 10pm it turns into aclub scene. I don’t speak Spanish but I was definitely vibing to the reggae tone beats. If you are in Bethesda, MD...
