I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!!!! We came here yesterday afternoon for a late breakfast. We were greeted in a not so friendly manner by Chuck, the service manager. Upon him asking for how many people the table is for, I asked if we could possibly have a booth, and received no response, but a displeased look from him. Due to a lack of staff that day, our server Serenity seated us. Serenity was amazing in every way. She was polite, efficient, and frequently checked on us to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. The food was good...we had pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. Now, when it came time leave and pay, is where the real problem began. Chuck, the service manager, was handling the register. I expressed that we would like two slices of pie to go, and when I tried telling him which ones, he rudely interrupted me telling me to pay first and then we "deal with that". I just went along with it. Then my mom went on to tell him how amazing our server Serenity was, and he didn't even respond or acknowledge her in any way. After paying, he then asked which pie I wanted, which was a slice of apple and slice of cherry pie. He grabbed the plate of apple pie with his unwashed hands that he just handled customer receipts and the register with, and his thumb ended up on the crust of the pie. Before I was able to say anything, he rushed into the kitchen. I asked another staff member if Chuck was handling and slicing the pie in the kitchen because at this point, i no longer wanted the pie since I was pretty sure he continued to handle it with his unwashed hands or without gloves. When he came out, he tried to hand me the bag with an unfriendly "here". I expressed that I no longer want the pie and would like a refund. In a friendly manner, I proceeded to tell him that I saw how his thumb was on the crust, and that I'm sure it was unintentionally done on his part, but that I no longer would like the pie because of that. He rudely told me that they don't do refunds which I responded to that I don't believe there can't be a refund on something that is due to the employee's fault. Suddenly, he now tells me that "he" can't process the refund, and that the only person that can, wasn't working that day. Telling him that I don't believe that as a service manager he can't process a refund, I asked for the name and number of the manager that can. Long and behold, he walks to the register, and in a literally huffing and puffing way combined with eye rolls, kept roughly punching the keys, and was miraculously able to give us the refund. I thanked him and wished him a good day, with no response from him. Let me make it clear, Chuck is giving your establishment an arsenine reputation and should absolutely not be working as a service manager since professional and polite customer service is lost on him. Sadly, we won't be visiting this...
Read moreThe breakfast food was really good - try the southwest chicken biscuits and gravy! Totally tasty and very filling. I asked for crispy hashbrowns and they came out perfectly. The location was nice and had a really cozy atmosphere. Reminded me of a Village Inn or Denny's, and the building was well-maintained. However, I have a couple gripes about the service:
Lindsey, our waitress, seemed real keen on rushing us out the door and brought only 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered. She informed us of where to pay and brought us our ticket early, and then when we're socializing she came by and hastily took our ticket saying she would run the payment for us. We hadn't even finished our meal yet. Maybe she was trying to be helpful but it didn't feel nice. It was a little busy but not so much that we should have felt like we were a nuisance, especially since we were trying to enjoy some time with family who we don't get to see often.
Hopefully this was an isolated occurrence as I would really love to come back here for the food and atmosphere! I'll be trying some of the pie next time I stop by. Overall, I recommend this place for a nice spot of breakfast and coffee with friends...
