Fun sports bar atmosphere with indoor and outdoor bars

This was our first visit to The Nest. Driving by it you many miss it. The door on the corner looks like any other building as you drive by. Inside you’re met with a long bar with 4 TVs. A narrow aisle between the bar and shelf seating on the other side. Stepping up to your right, there is inside table seating. Passing through the aisle, you met with a nice outdoor bar and uncovered table seating with 3 more TVs. I heard there was an upstairs but didn’t investigate. It soon became clear why it’s called the Nest. Eagles and their fans seem to inhabit the place. Actually seemed any Philadelphia sports team fans were welcome. The menu has an excellent selection of mixed drinks. Several taps had the standard national brand beers and a couple of craft beers. The craft beers seemed to be an afterthought. The menu listed “Conshohocken Brewery IPA”. I asked which IPA as CB has multiple IPAs. After a quick investigation, the answer came back: no one was sure. (My guess after ordering it and tasting it, it was their Type A IPA.) The menu includes pub munchies and “basket” food. You’re not coming here for the food. Other kinks they need to work out - no one knew the guest Wi-Fi password and cell reception at the back bar is not great.

Overall, this should be a fun place to be on Sunday afternoon when the Eagles are playing. Or to grab a beer before a concert...

Probably won’t ever come here to drink or eat again….. was only EVER here this past week and made the mistake of leaving the “tip” space empty after signing for my charges. Says they’re also open till 12am daily and almost NEVER stay open that late. Don’t even get me started on the fact the tip that was inputted by whoever was 50% ON TOP of my bill. You’d think these kids who run this place who ALSO attend an “Ivy League” ($40-50k/yr) school would be trustworthy enough to leave the tip empty and throw the receipt in the drawer but NOPE!

It’s sad that they probably assuming I was made of money and wouldn’t notice but I specifically gave them a card to charge that I DONT use and transfer whatever I spend on it to use. When my acct went negative I was just over-the-top. Lesson learned….even when Ivy League kids run a business you still MUST stay on your toes. I have proof of receipt and everything needed to dispute it AND are already in the process of charging back the entire thing!

Totally my fault for giving today’s generation a chance to be trustful…..it’s not the factor of money, it’s the factor of dishonesty....

The positives…the staff were nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good and seemed clean. They had a good amount of seating. As far as the food goes the only thing I liked from what I ordered was the mozzarella sticks.

We had a couple of hiccups. First, my sandwich was really burnt. When I asked to get a new one the waitress told me that she didn’t know if they would make me a new sandwich. A few minutes later she did bring a new one out that was cooked better. I was a little put off by how the waitress was very unsure. And was also like that when I asked if I could have a pork roll sandwich. The fries would have been good but they were super salty.

Other than that, I went to go use the bathroom and found that the men’s bathroom was on the main floor but the women’s was not. I use a walker abd have severely limited mobility so I had to use the men’s room. This is not the place to go if you have accessibility issues.

Overall, they have typical pub food in a bar and grill setting. I think I would be more willing to try them again if they were...

The Nest is a great bar and grill in Bethlehem PA blocksfrom Lehigh University. We visited this joint after the football 🏈 game. It's has a nice bar area with lots of panels to watch your favorite sports. To the side, it has a large area for sit down dining. They also have a bar outside with an expansive seating area. It is ideal for outdoor eating and drinking. The menu is eclectic and suitable for all tastes. I ordered the street shrimp taco which were awesome. It had a great combination of sweet and heat. They also offer a wide variety of drinks, sprits and cocktails. I highly recommend this place !
