This was definitely a meal I hope to soon forget. As a father of two young kids a night out for my wife and I is a rarity. We searched and discussed where to go for a week, deciding The Orchid Steakhouse would be our destination. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, so I asked if there was anything they could do for us in recognition of that. They said NO there was nothing they could do. Ok. We arrive and are seated quickly but the previous diners at our table left behind sticky residue all over my wife’s seat and it left big dirty blotches all over her new dress. She was near tears but I was able to make her laugh and we just laughed it off, comparing it to a similar fate on our very first date. Not one apology or acknowledgment from anyone in charge. Ok. Menu is standard steakhouse menu which means it’s hunks of overpriced grilled meat, outrageously priced sides you need to pass and share, and a handful of actual dishes which require combining ingredients and cooking them together. I don’t know about you but for us, this time of year, we are grilling steaks at home at least once a week. It isn’t rocket science. So we start with a seafood tower. I’m am no Gordon Ramsey but I know when a shrimp is thaw and served in a restaurant and when it’s actually cooked there. The texture is entirely different. These were frozen cooked and thawed, and the texture was like the cotton roll a dentist puts in your mouth to collect blood after a procedure. We both spit it out into our napkins it was that bad. Ok. At this point we conclude this place sucks. We get our entrees and we’ll what do you know , the steaks were good. We enjoyed them entirely, they weren’t as good as my father in laws steaks on the grill, nor anywhere near the caliber of a Smith and Wolinskey, or Gallaghers, or even. Ruthie’s Chris, but they were good. We did not have dessert because I had a small cake from the vegan place at home for us. It all cost about the same as a semester in college for my oldest kid in the year 2038. I just bent over and said “yes please”. Best of luck to you, orchid steakhouse. We will not...
Read moreReal customer, real review. I traveled from VA after seeing the place on-line, nearly 6 hours of travel, I always approach places with assuming something will be wrong and most things being hype but also wish for the best for many reasons... its safe to say that this was hands down my BEST restaurant experience ever. I'm in my 40s and I've eaten at white glove type steak houses and many other types.. I couldn't find anything to be mad at.. not even the bathrooms disappointed 🤣
With that said, I had a NY strip, cooked exactly as I asked for! My other half had the beef wellington, again perfect 👌 sides were the mac and cheese and long stem brocoli.. perfect 👌 the purple drink was some sort of lavender thing, she claimed is was amazing.. the dessert was also very very good, I tried the dessert from the table next to us.. also amazing.. that couple were first timers as well and felt the same way we did... they also ordered the octopus and shared with my other half, all claimed it to be the best they've ever had.. the vibe and decor of the place really just set the mood.. again no complaints!
Last but not least, our server Samantha was great. She was informative and attentive while also being a ghost of sorts unless we needed her.. but the thing.. she just appeared.. drinks stayed full and dirty plates disappeared.. it wasn't one of those overly annoying situations you get from some servers who either over do it or you have to search for.. she read the tables perfectly.
They do get packed, it was a full house, reservations should be made.. the food can take a little bit, so just know that going into it... you want quick and cheap, hit McDonald's.. if you want a great meal and good experience.. make a reservation and attend with a good attitude and good company and let the...
Read moreJust had an unforgettable dining experience at Orchid Steak House! The intimate ambiance, adorned with hanging greenery and stylish Christmas decorations, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was truly exceptional, with the bartenders showcasing their remarkable skills. Taking a seat at the bar, I indulged in a Buffalo Trace on the rock, elegantly served in a warmed glass with a perfectly formed ice cube. The bread, boasting a crispy exterior and a delectably soft interior, was an absolute delight.
For my first course, I treated myself to the truffle Gnocchi. The lusciously creamy sauce, infused with the earthy essence of truffles thinly sliced to perfection, was a true gastronomic pleasure. Accompanying the meal was the 'Just Peachy' cocktail, featuring the harmonious blend of Woodford Reserve, peach bitters, and honey. The presentation of this libation was nothing short of phenomenal, with a charred peach nestled within the drink, emitting a mist of smoke that added an element of excitement. Although the presentation was impeccable, the smoky flavor slightly overwhelmed the palate.
Now, let's delve into the main course - the Short Rib Ragu. The meat was exquisitely tender, effortlessly melting off the bone, while the flavors danced harmoniously on my taste buds. Each plate served was meticulously presented, showcasing the culinary artistry of the kitchen.
To conclude this extraordinary dining experience, I savored the tiramisu served in a charming mug. The texture of the dessert was flawlessly balanced, offering a delightful combination of richness and lightness.
Orchid Steak House surpassed all expectations, delivering an exceptional dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it for those seeking a memorable culinary journey....
