I have to say I am very disappointed. I've been a consumer of this restaurants food for two years and today has just blown my mind away. I am an a true disgust for one of my most beloved restaurants. I don't mean to sound cruel or bashful but I will make this as broef as I can. I walked into the small cozy Italian resturant like I have many other times on a Friday. My wife and my self very excited to eat some of Italy's finest cuisines. We had reservations so we were seated prompty the waitress very respectful and welcoming offered us two choices of water and both assuming to be cold due to it being the middle of summer we served to water that a Pyrex glass would bark at its temputure. It was honestly warm if not hot water. On to the meals I always order two appetizers one always being a plate of meats and cheeses so enjoy with our wine and another that my wife and myself decided to try something new. Ohh boy was I in for a world of awful I orderd the baby calamari dish that just was a giant mistake the dish came out a fire pit of spicy disaster nothing like the normal calamari wich I love Ohh so dearly but this was spicy that the hot water could not help me with or the wine for that matter because today they forgot to bring the wine chilling cover to keep my wine chilled. I did not finish the meal I continued to set my eyes on the future looking foward to our main dishes and would not try to put a twist. My wife orderd the dish she has been begging for all week the goat cheese linguine and I must say this dish is usually amazing. But no today on July 24 2015 they used all the hot water in our cups as drinks because the pasta my wife was served was not cool not even half way through it was litterly ramen with a splash of water. My jaw dropped and I was at a lost for words she was in tears and it unaccaptable because one tres is so small that one would assumed they take pride in all dishes they serve from there 5 hour a Friday schedule opened from 5pm-10pm. I will never return again and its a shame they must have gotten a new chef since last I've been but jeez bring the old chef back...
Read moreSpent the evening dining at Tre Scalini and really found it to be a wonderful Experience. Nice, quiet ambiance. Place is small but tables do not seem On top of each other like a lot of smaller restaurants do. We started with the Antipasto which was a small assortment of meat and cheese. It was just OK, felt like it could have used a cracker or some sort of jam mixed in, or even a soft cheese as it was basically just prosciutto, olives and provolone cheese I believe. I would Recommend one of the other enticing appetizers. For our meals we had the Rigatoni Alla Norma and the Pappardelle con Funghi and both were excellent. The Paparedelle could very well been one of the best pasta dishes I ever had. The sauce was creamy and just so good and the truffle oil really came through making it so delicious. The Rigatoni was excellent as well as the sauce was a nice sweet flavor that we both enjoyed. I believe the menu said it had ricotta salatta in it but I didn’t see any in the dish, regardless it was 10/10. All the desserts sounded amazing but we decided on the pistachio cake and highly recommend, I’m still thinking about how good it was. The service was excellent, she was always checking in on us making sure we had everything needed and were doing ok. If we are back in the Lehigh Valley area we will be sure to come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
