Dari Delite — Restaurant in Big Stone Gap

We absolutely love Dairy Delite. We live in a central location that gives us the option to either drive to Big Stone Gap or to drive to Pound and go to another similar place called Robos. Hands down we go Dairy Delite every time. The burgers and dogs are perfect every time we go, and ask for a small custard and they fix it to the ceiling! Great place and highly recommend for the food. Only reason I give 4 stars as a whole and 3 stars for atmosphere is because we love to sit out on the covered porch on nice days with the view of the mountain in the background. This is small town living at its best. What over shadows the experience they let their employees go outside around the corner and smoke which is carried onto the porch and makes it very unpleasant to be out there. Coming from a household of smokers, and not ever doing it myself the smell is very strong and poignant. I say to each his own and if you want to smoke give it the old college try but I shouldn’t have my senses assaulted trying to enjoy a meal and an experience. I recently went to this establishment and let me tell you it was the absolute worst experience. I ordered 2 sandwiches and 4 sides and it came out to $50! I dont mind to pay for good food but this was not it. The food was wrong, cold, and frankly a disappointment that took 40 mins to get and there were only 6 people in the entire restaurant. Then when I call to tell them this the woman on the phone(who i placed the order with face to face) tries to blame me that the food wasn't correct even when I had asked detailed questions while placing the order. Ive worked in the service industry for years so definitely not a novice when it comes to translating an order. Then she says "Well what do you want me to do about it?" I'll tell you, I want you to properly prepare your food, do so in a timely manner, and when mistakes are made how about at least an apology. I don't know if she was the only adult working that day but I would recommend going elsewhere until the owners have a real step back and look at...

Can't say enough when it comes to a small town atmosphere and great food.. Dari Delite is a big part of the towns atmosphere.. Excellent food always served with a friendly smile. With one of the best menus around and always serving up daily specials...Yum!! Dari Delite always goes above and beyond in the community, always helping others in so many ways.. from students in the community get the opportunity to work at Dari Delite during the summer break.. Its great seeing young students working beside one another. Wow and thank you Dari Delite for always stepping up helping our school programs and especially one of my favorite is the many Dari Delite Game Ball Sponsorships throughout the year.
