This establishment needs a lot of work if it's going to be a success. I know the struggles because I am a successful restaurant owner myself and I see the potential this place has. Upon visiting today for the first time my family and I entered the restaurant along with another couple at the same time. When we entered there was a couple dining. The lady at the front didn't acknowledge any of us with a greeting or anything. The other couple had to seat themselves and then walk up to the counter afterwards to order their meals. After placing our order we waited almst 40 mins or more for our plates to come out displeasing. Please if you are going to operate a "Jamaican" restaurant in America do it right and do your research. We know authentic fresh food and this was not it. The jerk pork was overcooked and on the verge of being sour, it was dry and burnt from being repeatedly reheated, the chicken on the pasta was so old and hard it was hard to chew and impossible to swallow. Where is the Rasta in the pasta that was just penne mac and cheese. The cheeseburger was overcooked and cold. We gave our feedback to the cashier and the kitchen who didn't seem to receive it well. First yall need to work on the front of house. The lady needs training and people person skills, she's the face of the business but she's very unaware of her job description and the position she's in. She didn't come back to check on any of her customers she seemed confused about the menu. She doesn't multitask very well and lack basic customer service skills like greeting and problem solving. People don't only pay for food we pay for the service and the experience....
Read moreI visited this location once and I also did a mobile order with them. The first time I was not impressed with anything. The location is right outside keesler AFB so if you're at the base it's convenient. There were no customers inside but the atmosphere was ok and it was clean. I had the cat fish and fries and the three meat combo. I wanted to sample few of the meats to get an idea of the taste. Im not a rice person so I have never tried their rice. The fried okra was good but the batter on the okra was a bit much. It took away from the okra itself. The catfish was alright. I believe my 3 meats were curry chicken, jerk chicken and oxtail. It was good. The pecan cake i was not too impressed. And the prices were a bit much compared to another location no too far from them. I ended up doing a mobile order weeks later, mainly because the restaurant I preferred was closed and I figure giving them another chance would be ok. This time really sealed it for me. Their food is overly salty. I drank water with each bite I'm sure. Even the rum cake I ordered was salty. This was very disappointing to say the least. I tried the Macaroni/mac and cheese. Curry goat which was like gravy and bones, the escovich fish. Everything was salty. I honestly need a detox after that meal. 😩 I don't know about anyone else but I won't be back. Wish your restaurant all the best tho. However, not the best representation of...
Read moreI don't do complaints, but I have to warn people about this restaurant. On 9/16/24 around 1030am when they first opened. I walked inside and a young lady was at the register. I asked to order the jerk fish. She stated that the only a few items they had available because the cook had just left for the store. I ordered the the jerk oxtails. She goes to the back to prepare my food, which took her about 15min for items she stated that was ready to go. I go home and eat my food. I didn't eat all of it. Within 2hrs, my stomach started to bloat. The next morning I was in pain and going to the restroom. I ended up with food poisoning. I'm trying to get over this morning 9/21/24. I used to love the food here. This place is reusing food from the previous day . Please eat here with caution especially when they first open. I paid $26 dollars for a plate I...
