If you don't know made from scratch, freshly prepared Greek food, then this is the place to be! We went to Mr. Greek on a late Saturday afternoon, a party of five. I saw two employees in the entire place. There were three other parties seated, two parties were leaving as we entered, and two more came in while we were being seated. When I say I saw two employees, I mean I saw a woman who seemed to be doing everything (hostess, taking orders, serving, clearing & cashing out), and a man who was taking direction from her.
We ordered saganaki, tiropita, moussaka, pastitsio, dolmathes, keftedes, hummus, gyros & (for the non-Greek in the bunch) chicken strips. All of the food was purchased previously frozen and heated in the kitchen. I've had food like this before, and it's not horrible....but. Given the time of day, the only thing I can figure is that it had been heated and the foil cover left on the food. Everything was MUSH...and/or overcooked (I'd guess from being re-heated multiple times.) The gyros were good...simply because you really can't screw that up unless you really try! Even the green beans (straight from the can, no spices, no tomato, no onion...nothing!) were incredibly overcooked. The tiropita was served scalding hot....it was microwaved. (Oh...and let's not leave out the powdered Country Time lemonade and sweet tea.) For this, I paid $116.
I was so disappointed because I wanted to LOVE Mr. Greek, so that I could have a place to go when I was feeling homesick. We may eventually go back, but only for gyros and saginaki. For everything else, I'll have to wait until my next visit...

Whether you're visiting from out of town, stationed at the base, or living in Biloxi, if you've never had Mr. Greek, I highly recommend you try it. To start, its a small place (hole in the wall places are usually... hole in the wall) and the staff were very kind. We were seated quickly and our waitress was perfect the entire time.
When we ordered the food, the restaraunt was fairly busy and we expected a long wait, but it came out around 10 minutes after ordering for all 3 of us. I decided on the platter and was not let down! It was superb, authentic, and different from other Greek restaurants I've tried. That being said, I've only went to Greek restaurants that cost about as much as this one did, but for the price, it outshined all of my previous experiences.
There were no downsides to note. If you haven't gone here but would like healthy and moderately priced food, give it a go! I'll definitely...
Read moreI've deleted my previous review, I was wrong. I realized that most restaurants/food places are going through a lot of stress and hardships during COVID-19. I will say, the waitress was rude my first time here. However, I understand everyone has a bad day.
Anyway, I came back again today and used "To go" order this time. A gentlemen answered the phone and said I will have it ready in 6 minutes. I stated to him I'm around 30 minutes away, and could you delay it by 20 minutes.. Which he was glad too.
I got the Gyro again with a side of fries. The gyro was fantastic, loaded with meat, and toppled with onions! It was very fresh. They give you a huge amount of fries, and definitely don't cheap out on it! I wish there was more salt on the fries but it was very good..
If you want a FAST meal, fresh and delicious meal. Come in. I can say the Gyro with fries is fantastic, homemade, and genuine. Spend $10 here for a real meal, versus, garbage...
