Firstly, the ambiance is swanky and dark. Old school upbeat music and a friendly staff throughout. We travel a lot and have been to the mediocre to the highest on end places across the country. The expectations standards for this place are set extremely high and that’s what we have based our rating on. Overall, the food was mediocre. We tried many dishes and spent around $350 before tip for two people. Starting off, tap ice water was poured and it is not good. Tasted like straight salt water. Which is what it is and they did offer bottled water once the server arrived. We elected for that and was brought a large bottle of Panna. We tried the onion bread which was good. Then the meatball tasted ok but was on the tougher side. The lobster bisque was dreary unfortunately. Cheesy more than creamy and salty assuming from the local water. We shared a Caesar which was salty as well again assuming rinsed with local water. They had specials that we ordered from for the main. I selected the Cajun seasoned 12oz filet which came with crab and cropped asparagus (Oscar style) and my fiancé selected the Wagyu filet with red wine reduction and a seared foie gras. First issue was both steaks were order medium rare and came rare. Definitely edible but under our desired temp and my fiancé’s was cold which was a disappointment because we will not ask a place like this to refire a steak like this. This isn’t outback and they should know without blinking how to get the temps right every time. We also tried the corn soufflé which was creamed corn topped with cheese and baked. Not what I would consider a soufflé without the airy bubbles and cake like taste. Lastly, we ordered crème brûlée which must have been prepared earlier because the top did not have a fresh hard top. Again, the overall experience was just mediocre and the cost is not in line with the experience you should be expected. Conceptually, this should be an award winning place but the execution...
Read moreWe had an amazing night at Morton’s! We ordered so much good food. We got the Lobster Bisque and Bacon steak for appetizers. I ordered a classic margarita (which was AMAZING). For our entrees, my friend ordered the Chicken Christopher (she said it was bland and didn’t have much flavor), I ordered the Salmon dish (it was great but they didn’t ask me how I liked it cooked. I would’ve gotten it a little less cooked but it was still good!), my husband and his friend ordered the ribeye. We also ordered the potatoes au gratin, cream spinach, mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts. FINALLY, we ordered the crème brûlée. Here’s why i give 4 stars. Okay i get it, it’s high-end expensive fancy, yada yada whatever. but why on God’s green earth is the rib-eye over $60 sides NOT INCLUDED. just the steak 🫢 the prices, in my opinion, are actually outrageous. although the food was really good, i don’t think i would go back just based on the price alone. my margarita was $18 and my salmon dish was $40. the sides were all over $13 a piece. Our bill was $418 for 4 people. I mean we did order a lot LOL but 🫣 I’ve also read other reviews about how dark it is in there and they’re not lying. It really doesn’t matter what you wear because you won’t be able to see it anyways! lol I saw some people literally using their flashlight on their phone to look at the menu. Besides the prices, we did have a great night and enjoyed our food. our waiter was kind and so was everyone we interacted with! Maybe if I go to the casino first and win $1,000, then I’ll treat myself😇🤪
**Side note: for those that don’t live in Biloxi or have ever been to the Golden Nugget, you do have to walk through the casino to get to the restaurant. It is a smoking casino so if you are with some that’s pregnant, is a child, or have issues with smoke, i would recommend walking through with a mask...
Read moreWe had reservations for 1/13/23 at 730. We were promptly seated in a dark and rather warm back area. Our server Jason, greeted us about 10 minutes after seating and seemed rather pleasant. He noticed we didn't have water yet and returned with a pitcher. We placed our orders for two apps, scallops and the crab cakes. Both dishes were good. We moved onto our entrees, 4 steaks and a variety of sides. When we received our food we waited for 5 minutes to receive steak knives. we we're given 3 knives for 4 people. Jason said he would grab another one. another 5 minutes pass and he delivers some cocktails to another table. We had to flag him down and ask about our missing knife. He apologized and promptly returned with another knife. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the black truffle butter was excellent. The creamed spinach tasted like it was from a can, the smoked gouda potatoes with nothing special, the corn souffle not the texture I was expecting and the truffle fries were excellent. We never once had our water glasses refilled until our plates were cleared. At this point we decided not to tempt fate and be further disappointed with the service and didn't order dessert. In closing, the service was very disappointing as well as the sides and the uncomfortably warm...
