Ok so I will start off by saying that the food here is actually pretty good. My mother in law and father in law will pick this up for everybody and bring Taco Sombrero home with them pretty frequently. I always get the same exact thing. I get the white cheese chicken chimichanga plate. For the price it's a good size chimichanga with a nice sizable amount of shredded chicken in it. I do like all the sides you get with the meal as well. You get refried beans, chips, lettuce, tomato and guac and also the white queso cheese and Spanish rice as well. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because out of the around 20 or so times I have ate this chimichanga plate in the last let's say a little over a year since I started getting that, out of all those times about half of those they have not put my chips and or guacamole lettuce tomato mix in with my food. That is a lot of times to make that same mistake. The food is good but, I don't find this place very consistent. I also noticed depending upon who makes my food perhaps, they either hook me up and give me nice portions of the cheese beans and rice or give me a much smaller portion. If you decide to get a take out order I would strongly advice to check and make sure everything is in the bag first before leaving. I don't personally go and pick food up from here it's always someone else and I don't usually know beforehand that my in laws are bringing Taco sombre home therefore I don't have the chance to remind them to please check and make sure my food is all there otherwise I would lol. I will say though, I do think this place would really be best to go and eat in at. I have actually been there to eat a few times before and both times the staff were extremely friendly...
Read moreSo let me start with the fact that I have been eating Taco sombrero for over ten years. It is by FAR my favorite fast food spot and I tell everyone to visit here if they ever come in to town. In August I moved to the Biloxi area and I now live right by Taco Sombrero. That's excellent news right? That's what I thought.
I started visiting the Biloxi location as opposed to the Gulfport location that I have frequented over the years. It is typical to have mistakes in a drive thru, but it is exceptionally bad at this location. I order my food with no onions every time. I have had them make the mistake of putting onions on my food multiple times over the last few months, but tonight was so bad I had to review about it.
I went through the drive through and ordered my chicken bueno dinner, no onion no tomato extra chips. She read this back to me. When we got to the window we added a bean burrito no onion. My girlfriend watched them make the burrito with onions. She said something to the staff member that made it and she admitted to her mistake and made another burrito this time with no onions. So we left and got home to eat. I sit down with my bueno dinner and who would have guessed... Onions. I looked at my girlfriend and said man I'm glad I got the bean burrito. Then opened it up only to find they had given me the bean burrito WITH THE ONIONS ON IT. I will drive to Gulfport when I'm in the mood for Taco Sombrero. I will not make the mistake of...
Read moreA step above the bell. If you want delicious tacos at an extremely reasonable price but are burnt out on Taco Bell and you're lucky enough to live on the (BEAUTIFUL) Mississippi Gulf Coast. Look no further than Taco Sombrero. No it's not just a fun name for a traditional Hispanic Hat. 😉. It's a place where you can get your Taco fix for a price that not only competes with the bell but, depending on what you order, could even beat their prices. They have all the classics and then some. Tacos, burritos, chalupas, tostada, Taco salads, and don't you dare forget about the Macho Nachos! And they also have something you wont ever find at Taco Bell, John's, or even Del Taco. A fun little menu item hiding away in their Value section... the Taco Burger. At (I believe) $2.79 a pop. It is everything you love about a Taco but on a bun. While it may just be my goofy butt that absolutely loves these things I cant help but brag about it. I think its a neat menu item that other places should be brave enough to try. Anyway, Taco Sombrero is awesome. Whether its their location in Gulfport, Biloxi, or Ocean Springs, you can always count on the food being good (for the price), the price being fair (for the food), and the people being friendly.
Ill add some photos next time we go, this last time was movie night and my fiance and I were more concerned with the film we were going to watch than remembering to take some pics...
