Chick-fil-A — Restaurant in Birmingham

I've eaten here many times, and never had a problem. Saturday, I ordered a #1 meal (chicken sandwich, fries, drink), and that's what I got, which is why I rated them 3-stars. The employees were all very polite, but... I walked down an entire row of seating but couldn't find a clean table and seat - they were all greasy and had crumbs everywhere. They werent busy inside, as I was the only customer other than DoorDashers, and less than 6 cars in drive-thru, so someone should have cleaned the seating area. Finally found one on the 2nd row that wasn't greasy, only had crumbs which I wiped off. Took over 10 minutes to get the food, which is the longest I've ever waited at any Chick-fil-A. The sandwich was good, but the fries weren't completely cooked. Not way-off, but enough they had that 'raw taste'. When i ordered, the total was $9.80, and I gave him a $10. Even w/o a register he should be able to count well enough to know he owed me 20 cents, so having a register that tells him he owes me 20 cents should make it a no-brainer. I was given 2 nickles. When I pointed out (several times!) that he owed me 20 cents and gave 2 nickles, it took another employee telling him he gave me 10 cents but owed 20 cents for him to attempt to correct it, by giving me an additional quarter. It was as if he thought the nickles were dimes. It took another try to get it right. No, I didn't ask for a manager at any point. It was late (about 9 pm), this was not a great part of town (Roebuck, AL), and it's not the sort of area where you want to draw attention to yourself. I wouldn't have stopped, much less stayed, but I was tired, hadn't eaten all day, and thought Chick-fil-A would be a safe place for good food. I think I'll skip it on...

Update 10/3/23 I had just did some work at my father in laws so I needed some food that I didn't need to check. 8 count nugget meal large. I got home and I'm not brilliant but I can count to 8 but I only got to 6 and one of em looked like it had been bit. U all are seriously going to make me have to stop and start counting nuggets. Lord have mercy...

3 time in under 2 months my order was messed up. Seems like I file a complaint after each order. 4 meals are packed too tightly to dig and check an order. Beyond aggravating getting home with what are simple orders and they constantly be screwed up. Subtract me from the insane lines. Pickup isn't even an option on my app anymore. I'm done! Lived near this location for 21 yrs. Has never been this bad and probably couldn't say I've had 3 bad orders in all of those yrs before recently. And that was when the location was fully open. Just ridiculous how bad things have gotten. I have to file complaints so often they might think I'm hustling for coupons or something. I just want my order correct! And what's the point in a coupon if I learn how to use it and it gets scanned, it's on my receipt, and NOT IN MY BAG!!! It’s no pleasure that I am forced to give my favorite fast food restaurant a review of this sort. Today I walked into Chick-fil-A at around 8:35pm to order some food but I wanted/needed to use the restroom first. As I walked toward the restroom, I hear a male saying “sir” and a female saying “he came in here to just use the restroom.” The young man informed that they were closed. As I am walking back to my car, I couldn’t help but feel extremely disappointed in the young female’s statement. This is the first time I have ever felt unwelcome in a Chick-fil-A, and, trust me, I visit quite often and spend boat loads of money given that it’s my nieces and nephews favorite restaurant (I have 9 of them). It’s small things like this, in my opinion, that will turn the friendliest, kindest, cleanest, well organized, pleasant restaurants like Chick-fil-A into the typical fast-food restaurant that doesn’t appreciate it’s customers hard-earned money.
