**El Taco Loco: A Gem in Birmingham's Culinary Crown** Upon the glowing recommendation of a friend from Guatemala, I ventured into El Taco Loco, nestled in the heart of Birmingham. The experience was delightful from the outset, with a warm welcome complemented by a serving of **crisp chips and zesty salsa** that set a promising tone. Service was swift and personable, thanks to **Silvia**, whose professionalism and friendliness were as refreshing as the beverages she served. Her expertise shone through as she navigated me through the extensive menu, ensuring I made the perfect choice for my palate. The **Molcajete** was a revelation, a generous feast brimming with succulent meats that tantalized the taste buds. But the true star was the **homemade picante sauce** crafted from dry Serrano peppers. This fiery concoction was a game-changer, enhancing the meal with its robust flavor and just the right amount of heat. I couldn't resist suggesting they bottle this liquid gold; it's a product destined for success. The promise of exploring more of their expansive menu beckons me to return. As I departed with **churros** and a **Mexican Pizza** in tow, I was already anticipating the joy of sharing my findings. Stay tuned for more on these take-home treats! **Verdict:** El Taco Loco is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Mexican cuisine with a side of exceptional service. **Highly recommended!**

They seem to be trying to serve Mexican and American folks, and doing it pretty well. It's NOT a taqueria. Full menu, a good effort at decoration Saddles for bar stools. Some one is trying hard to build a brand, and more power to them. The clientele is 50/50 mix. My litmus test is Chilaquiles. Their effort is pretty good. Autentico chilaquiles is a pretty dismal dish of leftover breakfast recycled for a quick mid day meal. The typical Gringo version is basically Nachos with a big portion of sauce over them. Theirs is a little of both. I liked it, and it's a generous portion. Do it. Go.

I brought two plates of carne asada to go , on both of the plates, the meat was raw and when I called the restaurant about the issue, they told me to bring them back their food, when I arrived at the restaurant they had a very bad attitude as soon as they saw me walk in. They knew they were wrong but didn't even apologize. They said the steak was not raw because it was cut in pieces. Very unprofessional place and I will not be returning.

Authentic and Tex Mex all on one menu. I only get the tacos. Same taste as the trucks and I can sit down and get some chips and salsa and a Margarita, too. Employees speak very little English, but enough to get your order right and ring it up correctly later. Prices are great, too

Update: will never get another dime from me. My 4 friends were refused alcohol service but apparently our money was still good enough to purchase food. Supposedly, one of my friends caused a problem the last time she was there, and would not be served alcohol going forward. But in actuality, because all black people look alike, (insert sarcasm here) my friend was confused with someone else who had caused a disturbance a week or two prior. We were told the manager was not there , even though he was actually hiding in the back , and that if we did not pay and leave, policia was coming . All of this was said to us in broken English, by the way 🤣 Needless to say we will not be back and regardless of how delicious the food is it can definitely be found somewhere else. We were treated like royalty down the...

Made a large order for a group of coworkers. Figured maybe because it was a large order and they were busy the orders came out bad. I was wrong. The restaurant was empty except for two tables at most and the rest of the food was fine so i don’t see a excuse. I will won’t be back. Two of the Steak orders were RAW. The chips for the nachos were stale all they did was refried them. Then to top it off they had a attitude when approached about the food. Tried to argue about the situation. Terrible customer service. Refused to refund the money at first until the lady of the card came in and told them to refund it. They still tried to argue. The order total was $84. For that money we could of received better food and customer service else where. We will not be doing buisness with them anymore. Instead of apologizing or even asking to remake the food they decided to fight about it and have a nasty attitude. Is that the type of people you guys are and represent? What a shame. We used to eat there often but there are way better options...
