I ordered a garbanzo bean salad after checking out the menu online... Picked up my order and noticed what a small portion it was. I asked if the order was correct and was told it was. I mentioned it was quite small for $14.00. So, I left to go enjoy my take out. Once I got back to work, I had a chance to look at it further. I noticed there were no gorbanzo beans in it, which is what I ordered. I called Yummefy and spoke to the manager. I recapped the first issue with the size of it. Then, I explained the second issue of the lack of protein in my meal. So, essentialy I got a few chopped veggies/ fruits for $14.00. The most frustrating part of this is that he argued with me about not ordering correctly, yet he didn't take my order. On top of that, he wouldn't credit me until I brought the food back. I explained I only get a 30 min lunch and me picking up the food already wasted 1/3 of my time. Bringing it back would only leave me with 20 min left to return it, get credited, and then still had to get food from somewhere else and have time to eat it. He went on to ARGUE with me that I should have asked for chick peas. I explained gorbanzo beans and chick peas were the same thing and that the online menue actually referenced them as gorbanzo beans.... Still he argued. I told him to look it.... It's the same thing... He walked off and allowed another staff member to credit me. It got to the point, I actually had to tell him to stop and listen, to let me speak. I had to ask for a receipt. I will be checking to ensure I'm credited. The food looked delicious... I'm sure it would have been amazing but the customer service was horrid. I don't think they really cared if they wasted my lunch break or cared too much about the bad customer service. I won't be back! 🙂
Update 12/07/22: owner replied.... Incorrect. At the time you had garbanzo beans in the salad I ordered, as advertised at the time. This response came four months too late. Still, horrible experience and wouldn't come back. The fact that you argued with me as a customer and insisted I walk back a food order you screwed up on, all while on my lunch break, considering I only get a 30 min lunch, is ridiculous in order to get a refund. Poor customer...
Read moreMy son has been here a few times but this was my first experience. Surprisingly enough, we were the only ones dining in on a Saturday evening. It turns out that apparently they get most of their business during the week for their brunches. We were told the UAB crowd frequents this spot.
We ordered the naan with garlic added. It came SO FRESH and warm, it was so delicious! I ordered the butter chicken and my son ordered the coconut curry with shrimp added. We only waited about 15 minutes before our meals arrived and it too was so fresh! Oh my word… the sensational flavor of their food!!! I cannot wait to come back and try more.
4/28 I had the day off of work so I wanted to go catch the all you can eat buffet! It’s normally just weekdays and during the hours I work. So I was excited to get to check it out!
Sam and Rose greeted us with a smile. They are so kind. They allowed us to switch to our usual table once the patrons finished their meal.
I tried a little bit of everything on the Buffet. They have white rice as well as fried rice (not the same as you get from Chinese restaurant, but good!). Every.single.thing.had amazing flavor!!!! I am a butter chicken lover so of course I enjoyed that. But the tandoori chicken and darzeeling potatoes were incredible!!! The lentil soup is packed with flavor and has a bit of a kick to it. So good! Even their rice pudding was full of flavor and creamy consistency.
I believe the brunch is about $15. Great value and ready to eat, so a quick lunch is possible.
Go try this place out! Or get it delivered. You’re going to love it!
Original review: San, one of the owners, was so kind and spoke with us a bit. He shared a little bit about him and his wife’s journey to Alabama, after sharing that I had just moved here. Such a kind man!
Another wonderful new spot discovered in Birmingham! I LOVE all the culture and...
Read moreDining here was a terrible experience. First, when we initially got inside, we were told to sit at a table and nothing more. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We sat there for about 5-10 minutes while the guy serving us was doing side work and putting together to go orders. Eventually I get up and ask if we’re supposed to get our own drinks. He says yes. It would have been nice if he initially told us this. I also saw him making drinks for everyone else who came in after us. Weird. Time passes and being that I’ve never been here, I get up and ask him how we are supposed to order. He said he’ll take our order and yells that he’s coming. He comes and takes the order shortly after. The food came out in a timely manner but it was mediocre at best. The vegetarian rolls were ok, the edamame was too salty to eat, and the drunken noodles were alright but the chicken was over cooked or possibly reheated and it was overly oily. He never once came to the table to ask how the food was tasting. Eventually we eat what we can of the meal and continue to sit there an excessive amount of time. At this point, there are 3 other people there at 2 different tables. It wasn’t busy at all. He eventually sees that we’re both staring his way and yells that he’s coming yet again. He hands us a bill and points to the top of it where there is a QR code. In order to pay here, you must pay from your phone, so odd. I paid the ticket and we raced out of there as fast as we could—after moving the velvet rope they had trapping us in—and we will never go back! I’m shocked...
