My wife, her parents and I went to Thuy:a on 17 January 2025. The atmosphere was nice, the food was decent at best, but we're never eating there again. The person who took our order was alright, but the bald guy who brought our order out and received our payment was horrible, though.
First, the food tasted like the same cookware is used for everything on their menu. Specifically, we could taste fish on the pork in our sandwiches. What if someone has a food allergy?
Second, the guy mentioned above seemed OFFENDED that I asked if Thuy's offered discounts for military, veterans, and first responders. Instead of a simple "no, I'm sorry but we don't," his response was, "We do not offer any discounts here. Not for military, not for police, not for teachers... Everybody pays the same price."
Third, they put our entire order on one check instead of two. When my father in law (a VETERAN) and I went to pay, I told the guy that my wife and I EACH had a Vietnamese sandwich. I paid for our portion of the order, then stepped outside. Frankly, I regret that I even left a tip after his tirade.
About two minutes later, the guy came running out to the parking lot, telling me (in front of everyone on the porch) that I only paid for one sandwich, and that I needed to come inside and pay for the second one. Instead of being professional and cordial about HIS mistake for not properly ringing up my order, he was extremely rude about it.
The food at Thuy's may have been decent, but it's definitely not good enough to tolerate such rudeness and unprofessionalism from the staff. It's a shame that one employee has ruined the customer's experience and view of the entire restaurant. Needless to say, Thuy's will receive no further business from me...
Read moreI was strolling through Bisbee, starving but not starving, you know? Just needed a little somethin' somethin'. Thuy's Noodle Shop caught my eye - cute white and green building, right across from that big copper statue. Looked friendly, so I popped in.
Inside, it was like stepping into a cozy Vietnamese grandma's kitchen. Nice and warm, smells amazing, and the staff? Super friendly, treated me like family. So, I ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls, figured they'd hit the spot.
Whoa, Nelly! These weren't your average gas station spring rolls. These were big, juicy babies stuffed with fresh pork and shrimp, wrapped up like little flavor bombs. And the peanut sauce? Forget store-bought stuff, this was creamy, dreamy homemade goodness. Two of those bad boys and I was stuffed silly, in the best way possible.
Now, the real kicker? The price. My wallet didn't even flinch. Thuy's Noodle Shop ain't fancy, but they serve up tasty, healthy food that won't break the bank. And their portions? You could feed a whole posse off one of those pho bowls I saw steaming on the counter. Next time, I'm coming back hungry!
So, if you're in Bisbee looking for a quick bite that's delicious, affordable, and served with a heaping helping of Vietnamese charm, skip the greasy spoons and head straight to Thuy's Noodle Shop. Your taste buds (and your wallet)...
Read moreMy wife and I had a disappointing experience here. We both ordered the vegan curry, and the main reason we did was because of all the different vegetables that were listed in the menu description. When the food came out, it seemed that it didn't have all the ingredients it was supposed to have, and although we couldn't remember everything, we were almost sure broccoli was one of them, and there was none. So I asked the waiter, and he said he didn't think it was supposed to be included, but I asked him to go check the menu, and he came back and said, no, it wasn't included. Although I was still skeptical, I took him at his word, and when we were leaving the restaurant, although I wanted to double-check the menu myself, I decided not to because I didn't want to insult the waiter. Long story short, when we got home, I checked the menu online, and sure enough, broccoli was in the description, as well as mushrooms, which also had not been in the dish. Bottom line, we didn't get the full dish we were supposed to. And the waiter lied to us. I called and spoke to the owner the next day, and she "apologized", but she didn't offer any kind of compensation, like a discount or a free appetizer if we came back. Oh, and by the way, the curry was kind of bland, and the tofu was just dumped in uncooked with no seasoning. All in all, very...
