Before our visit, we had no idea of Bisbee's pivotal role in the expansion of the West. It's truly astonishing to discover that Bisbee was once among the largest cities in the Western United States. The museum offers a wealth of knowledge, from its in-depth exploration of union-busting efforts and rich mining history to the surprising number of baseball legends who played in the area. What makes the experience even more unique is the passionate storytelling by volunteer guides, many of whom hail from families that have lived in the area for generations. Their personal anecdotes provide insights you won't find anywhere else. Additionally, the museum boasts an impressive collection of mining artifacts, many of which have been returned by the Smithsonian - a testament to their original significance to this community. They sell jewelry, home made jam, beautiful minerals all colors and a collection of antique dishes and old memorabilia. Art museum with great artist. Also the streets have in display old cars , buses and motorcycle from early 1940 and older. A shuttle runs every 15mins from a parking lot in town. You can visit also the mine. You can visit the Bisbee Museum with a replica of under ground mine. Extremely instructive. They show and you can read all the stories of people and they way of living in this mining town. Read moreThe Bisbee Queen Mine Tour was amazing. My partner and I visited during our weekend getaway trip. I'd never been in a mine before and it was something to experience. Parking wasn't difficult as they had their own lot. I would imagine during high visitor times you wouldn't be able to find a space.b
Before we went into the doors, we saw many things to do outside and learned a lot of history about the mine.
Entering the doors it's a museum and store to purchase items from. We did buy our tickets inside and was lucky enough they had a few seats left.
We got hard hats and vests lights and boarded the mine train. It was an experience the entire family would enjoy.
