Lone pine california. I am here to visit my neice for a birthday party. My mom really didn't eat much at the party. So we came here to get her some chicken nuggets. I ordered the 20 peice. They only let you use the kiosk, they won'thelp you at the register. When I placed my order it only let's you get 3 sauces. We'll! 3 sauces was not enough. I went to the front to ask for a BBQ sauce and Sidel said I would have to pay for it. I said ok. May I order a bbq sauce ( mind you I had the chicken nuggets in my hand to show the 3 sauces was not enough) he said I would have to go to the kiosk to order it. For those of you who know, the kiosk is a bit slow and takes longer, especially when they are being used. So I asked again and he said at the kiosk. He saw that we were on our way out. He didn't care. Let me remind you that I only asked for 1 (one) sauce packet. So We just walked out with my chicken nugget box. Did I mention we were visiting, took us 4 hours to get here and 4 hours to get back home. Well, the atmosphere was good until I asked to utilize my 20% off coupon from my app and Sidel said and I quote " I can't do anything here, you have to go back to the kiosk and do it. So I juat paid him. I am not sure if he is a lead or manager, but from the way he behaved I would have to say he is a regular employee, although the other young man that was there was very nice and polite. I will say That I understand you have to pay for the extra sauces, but his attitude needs to be improved. Please have him trained for customer service Sidel really sucks. He couldn't even really look at me in the face. He had the young man tell me as he was just standing a bit behind him. McDonalds please train your staff especially...
Read moreBeing that this McDonald's is literally the only one in 150 miles in any direction, you'd think it would be great.....it's not. What surprises me is that the Lone Pine McDonald's is usually a familiar stopping point for travelers heading up north to Mammoth or Tahoe and back south towards Los Angeles. Also, this McDonald's used to be popular with hikers traversing the PCT and JMT as a way to get some good ole fast food fat and carbs in their bodies when they came down to resupply. I hate to say it, but this McDonald's is a drag. My son was walking towards the counter and slipped and fell on water or something wet. It wasn't soda. Seems like the heater is always on. The implementation of kiosk ordering has thrown customer service interaction out the window, so expect very minimal words to be spoken. The food usually takes longer than expected to arrive and when I used to drink soda, I would ALWAYS choose McDonald's over any other fast food restaurant because I was told by a Coca-Cola employee that McDonald's paid extra to have the carbonation/flavors set to a certain formula. This McDonald's lacks that. There is one good thing, though: the bathrooms were very well kept, and using the toilet was not a cringe experience. Read moreNormally, it's pretty good. One of the best McDonald's I've been to as far as service and employing the local Community. For the last few weeks however someone is slipping. Two mornings at 6:15am ish (coffee and breakfast time?) I try and order hot vanilla latte but they cannot do it because they are cleaning the machine. Another day, I drove through to order my husband 4 sweet and sour sauces and myself a chocolate shake and was directed to park in spot #1...15 mins later I met him in the middle of the parking lot to follow him back in to get the sweet and sour sauces and I swear there was only two people working and the lobby was trashed!! Never seen it like that before. Just ordered 40 pc nugget family deal and guess what?! Yup..the all elusive sweet and sour sauces...how you gonna serve 40 chix nuggets and not check? YOU'RE MAKING $20/HOUR NOW, KID!! More than the local CNA's and non teaching staff at the local school- PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT A LITTLE BIT! Dang Managers- tell corporate that just because the customers are doing the first part of the work themselves, they still need to let you schedule a person to keep it clean...and tell the night shift that they are responsible for cleaning one of the first machines that is required at opening...not allowed to sit dirty...
