Shakers on 3rd — Restaurant in Bismarck

Ah, wow. From the moment you step foot into shakers, it’s as if you’re transported to a whole new place. You’re greeted by a warm, welcoming staff; who seemingly are eager to say hello, which is refreshing as it didn’t appear to be a chore for them. (Even if it is, they did a great job making you feel invited!) The entire restaurant is such a modern, current vibe, that it truly is hard to believe this gem is located in Bismarck, North Dakota and not a hidden amongst a city. From the decor, the ample seating options from outside next to a warm fire-place, to sitting on a balcony enjoying the vibes below. Inside and out, there’s a vibe for everyone. Their drink menu is not only articulate, but unique and different; which just adds to the characteristic charm of this place, in my eyes. There’s truly a drink for everyone; which is also a win in my eyes. Can we also please talk about that perfectly curated playlist? Incredible. There was not a single song I did not recognize.. I couldn’t help but jam out to each banger as they played back to back. It was so nice. Not only that, but it was a wide variety of music. From early 2000’s pop, rock, metal, reggae, they had everything we totally used to listen to back in the day. Which was nostalgic. This place feels safe, warm, and a place I’d recommend to anyone. The decor in the bathroom?! To die for. Love the walls, the portraits and the super cute station full of goodies?! An absolute win. From all basic women hygiene products, to lotion, sunscreen, feel good essential oil spray, to mints to freshen your breath; this place has it all. It is a gem, a vibe, and a place I could see myself returning quickly to. I will be so saddened the day winter hits, as then it’ll hit me for sure that we are in Bismarck, not a fun, warm city. Let’s talk about Simone!

Every once in a while, you come across someone in the service industry who completely redefines what great hospitality feels like—and Simone is that person. She has so much charisma, is effortlessly engaging, and truly knows her stuff. The moment I saw her again on this visit, I actually lit up—I remembered how amazing she was the last time I came in.

If I could have Simone every time I went out, I’d never want to cook or pour a drink at home again! She’s that good. Her presence alone makes Shakers a must-visit spot for me (more often than my budget would prefer 🤣). It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel like a VIP and a friend at the same time—but Simone nails it.

Went out for drinks with friends after a long work week. Loved the vibe of Shakers! We loved the decor and just the overall ambience. Our server Simone was top notch! She provided great recommendations on which beverages we would love and she was spot on.
