Well, I had high expectations of the firepit after reading the reviews. Was excited. Some real BBQ that is Not Dave’s and not Dickeys. But this quickly changed. I place and order for delivery and I Understand that it may take a little time to get. I order 2 Brisket sandwiches, sausage sandwich, 2 side of mac and cheese, 3 pork belly tacos. We asked for the tacos to have no vegies on them as my wife is sensitive to onions, the cheese bread pizza, and the Carmel rolls. Right after placing the Order My wife received a phone call from the Firepit telling us, they are out of brisket. This is at 2:30 in the afternoon. Like how dose a BBQ place run out of one of the main meats you should have by 2:30 in the afternoon. This starts the disappointment. We chose another meat option for the sandwiches. She went with the smoked turkey. For the sandwiches, she also requested that the sauce be put on the side as she is sensitive to spices.!.! so after waiting about an hour for the food it was delivered. The cheese bread pizza was over cooked and so was the mac and cheeses. There was no sauce with the turkey sandwiches. And they really need the sauce as the turkey seemed a little on the dry side. The Pork belly tacos are the biggest disappointment. As they came full of onions and peppers. That was $15.00 in the trash because we can’t eat them do to the onions. When I called the Firepit and talk to someone and told them, they told me they for got to write it on are ticket.!.!.!. They also said that we could put in a new order for the tacos, and they would refund us for them, and we can come pick them up. If that would be the case, then that defeats the purpose having deliver done. Out of the food we had gotten the only thing that we enjoyed was the sausage sandwich, the Jack Daniels Carmel roll, and Cheesecake Stuffed Caramel Roll. After spending over 100.00 on everything would I say it was worth the money? Definitely NOT!!!! The sad thing is at least if I were to go to Dickeys or Dave’s I know I could get brisket anytime they’re open. Overall, I would say that I am very disappointed in the Firepit and at this time would not recommend it. Maybe in the future I would be willing to give them a second chance, but as for now, I’ll find my BBQ fix...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. My husband & I can't remember the last time we had such a terrible dining experience. We got there at 5:50 pm on a Friday evening & expected a bit of a wait. It was busy, but a booth opened up so we snagged it, even though it hadn't been cleaned. A couple of waitresses made eye contact with us a few times, but never said anything to us & we waited 15 minutes for our table to be cleaned. Then it took another 10 minutes to be able to order. During this time, a couple sat down after us, yet ordered before us & got their food very quickly. We waited almost an hour for our food, while only being checked on by a waitress once, who took my husband's glass for a refill & never brought it back. During our, almost 2 hours there, we felt very unwelcome & neglected. The service was very unorganized, with all 3 waitresses seeming to have no set tables & checking on the same tables at random times. Now, let's get to our meal. When we finally got our food, it was such a huge disappointment. My husband ordered the pork belly burger, but he was brought a burger with pulled pork. He would have sent it back, but we didn't want to wait another hour. I ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs with their "spicy" coleslaw & Southern style potato salad with supposed smoke flavor. Let me say this, I'm from the South & know good BBQ & this WAS NOT IT! The 3 ribs had next to no meat on them & were tough. Plus, they were almost cold. The spicy slaw had no spice or heat to it. Was the spice supposed to be black pepper? I'm not sure. And, finally, the potato salad had no smoke flavor & was the worst I've ever tasted. From beginning to end, from service, ambience, & food, this was such a letdown. I'm very unclear how this has a 4...
Read moreAs a master’s student constantly on the move—whether for military service or trucking—I’ve tasted food from coast to coast. But The Firepit in Bismarck? It’s a standout.
We first saw their Shrimp Boil Thursday advertised on Facebook and rolled in after 8pm, just missing the main event. No regrets though—the smoked wings were juicy with a rich, smoky depth, and the Philly cheesesteak from the after-hours menu was loaded with tender beef and gooey cheese, tucked into a perfectly toasted roll.
But Friday? That’s when the magic happened.
🦐 Shrimp – Plump, succulent, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a perfect balance of sweet brininess and bold seasoning. They weren’t just cooked—they were crafted.
🌽 Corn on the Cob – Sweet and buttery with a smoky char that added depth. The kernels popped with juiciness, soaking up the boil’s spices like a sponge.
🥔 Potatoes – Soft, creamy, and infused with the boil’s rich, peppery broth. They acted like flavor bombs, releasing warmth and spice with every bite.
🌭 Sausage – Smoky, spicy, and savory. The sausage slices were the perfect contrast to the shrimp, adding a meaty kick that rounded out the boil beautifully.
Every ingredient was seasoned to perfection and served piping hot. The boil wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, The Firepit is...
