Bread Poets Baking Company — Restaurant in Bismarck

I have been to Bread Poets before, and everything they make is delicious. On February 27th I was in Bismarck the morning after they got quite a bit of snow, I called early morning to inquire about their cinnamon logs. The person on the phone sounded annoyed, so I decided to go to a nearby bakery instead. The service of an establishment says tons to consumers in my opinion.

As I also noted, I have enjoyed the products your establishment comes up with on multiple occasions, and they are delicious. Generally, I would agree that it is unfair to judge a person on one phone call, however, the tone of this person's voice was something I have honestly never experienced. Everyone definitely has off days, we are human, just providing feedback on my most recent experience. I will definitely be giving your establishment another try, and will update my review as appropriate.

This is an excellent hidden gem in downtown Bismarck. From the outside, it's a bit hard to spot, but once you're inside, you will remember where it's at for a long time. Their menu has enough choices to satisfy just about everyone looking for a sandwich with some of the freshest ingredients found in the area. The staff is very friendly, knowledgable, and passionate at what they do. The restaurant is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. We live 100 miles away in Minot but we always look forward to stopping at Bread Poet. Today we purchased 2 loaves of lefsa bread ( 1st time we’ve tried it) and it was still warm. But when we got home several hours later we found the middle 1/2 of the loaf to be RAW dough. Both ends were good and loved the idea / flavor of a potato bread rolled around sugar / cinnamon but not sure how they evaluate “ doneness” but this bread was a long way off. Bad day ? New owners?
