We tried Camp Bow Wow a few different times, we started with daycamp with our our nine month old puppy and she enjoyed it. We tried it out with our six-year-old Australian Shepherd and she came back with her paw hurt and was extremely anxious so we did not bring her back. Our puppy Winnie however, seemed to enjoy it so we brought her back for boarding for a week while we are away for a cruise. First mistake, I should have gotten her a room that was closed off to the other dogs while she slept and ate because upon picking her up, we realize she lost substantial amount of weight by not eating and her and her bed smelt awful and was destroyed. We received a phone call on the last day, letting us know that Winnie‘s eyes were red and swollen. I did ask her to give her Benadryl in case she was having an allergic reaction, which she did. Nobody at the facility could tell me what happened tho. They said they went to go get her after lunch and noticed her eyes. When we picked her up her eyes were matted, extremely red and swollen, she was lethargic and had a fever. Our vet did not have any available spots, so we took her to the ER vet where she had a bunch of test ran and came out with a bunch of medications and eyedrop’s. They did a respiratory canine panel and blood test to see if she had picked up anything. We have not received those test results yet but should have them in a day or so. I did send an email and I have tried calling the facility to see if I could speak to a manager but nobody has even checked up on Winnie or called me back in regards to my attempts to get a hold of them. I am pretty upset that my puppy not only lost a substantial amount of weight but come out with some kind of virus. I had to pay for the boarding and then turn around and pay for an emergency vet bill. I really wanted to like this place because I need some more to take my dogs, but obviously this is not a reputable Place with the amount of dogs that they have and the fact that people are allowed to bring their dogs there that are obviously sick. I brought a healthy puppy that was fully vaccinated that had lots of energy and I got a puppy back that is very sick and I have yet to speak to someone at the camp. We absolutely will not be back and do not suggest going here. I just pray my puppy doesn’t experience long term issues from this huge mistake we made by coming here. EDIT : Her official diagnosis was Canid alphaherpesvirus 1 (CaHV-1), formerly Canine herpesvirus (CHV) which is very contagious and spread via kennels and I have yet to speak to ANYONE from this location. They clearly do not care about the dogs...
Read moreI am happy with the quality of care and professionalism of Camp Bow Wow. I am secure in knowing my dog is supervised by staff for any situations that may arise. Regardless of the weather, my canine companion gets to safely interact and socialize with other dogs in both indoor and outdoor settings. The workers, always friendly, have been sensitive to the needs of my family and willing to be flexible enough to accommodate those needs. For example, when my husband was involved in a bad work accident, my friend was allowed to drop my dog off for me, and Camp Bow Wow employees assured me they would look after her until my husband was out of danger. As excited as my old puppy gets when I drop her off for the day, she is just as excited to come home. Doggy day care can be a fun experience, although exhaustive and overwhelming at times. They offer great package deals, and whether you choose doggy day care or overnight boarding, you can not go wrong with...
Read moreI really did want to love this place. I was excited for my dog to get to be around other ones while I was away instead of locked in a cage at another facility, so that was definitely a pro. After interview day, she was excited to see me though got a cough and diarrhea not long after. She went to the vet and got some medication and cited that the cough was contagious so she probably got it from her visit. Thought it was a one-off and had my dog there for two nights. She smelt terrible when picked up and needed two baths. Past that, her cough has gotten worse and her medication wasn’t all given to her in those two days correctly though I wrote it all down. I understand there are a lot of dogs at the facility but that was far less than ideal. If the dogs had to be washed beforehand and they made sure they were all in good health and couldn’t make other dogs ill then that would be great. Hopefully those two things can be implemented more...
