Tijuana's Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Bixby

The 2nd door entering the establishment says 'please wait to be seated" so as you enter the 2nd door you are standing by tables that could be occupied while the main desk is across the room. Feels a little odd just standing there rather than having a designated waiting area. Outside of that, I was promptly greeted and escorted to a table. Upon sitting I was immediately asked what i would like to drink. The server quickly came back with my drink along with chips and salsa.

The chips tasted fresh and the salsa wasn't bad either. I ordered my meal and asked for hotter salsa. The spicy salsa was delivered quickly and tasted great. Within about 5-10 minutes my meal arrived. It was exactly as I ordered it 2 enchiladas, rice, and beans. Everything was hot and delicious. I was surprised that they did not up charge for the queso I requested on my enchiladas, since most restaurants do.

My wife and I love Mexican food and eat it everywhere we go, and we both think this is hands down the best Mexican food anywhere we've eaten. We've been eating here regularly since 2007 and off and on since we moved out of the area. The food quality hasn't decreased at all over the years and may have even gotten better (or maybe it's just so much better than anywhere else that it seems to be getting better by comparison). Eating at Tijuana's is always one of the top things we look forward to most about visiting Tulsa. Their regular menu items (I.e. standard Mexican restaurant fare) are excellent but their house specials are amazing! I always have such a hard time choosing because so much if it is so good! But I think the spicy tacos guajillo might really be my first pick. Very close runners up are the chicken and shrimp acapulco, and the Tijuana's fajitas. My wife's favorite is the pollo con crema. It baffles me how this restaurant has 4 or 5 stars unless the people submitting these high score reviews are compensated or part owners. I’m giving this place 1star rating and that is because I love the tables. Yes, the tables. My food was nothing short of awful. I ordered Enchiladas one taco and one tamale. All of my food tasted as if it were stomped on the ground, rinsed with dirty dishwater, thrown in the trash and heated in a microwave. I literally didn’t eat any food after the first couple of bites and did not take it home. I paid for it, tipped the server and left the restaurant disappointed along with my 5 friends.
