Huddle House — Restaurant in Blackshear

We've been going to the Blackshear Huddle House for many years. Usually the food and service is on point. The past few months I've been doing online pick up orders. The last couple of times I've done the online order we've had food missing from the order. Well tonight we decided to place an online simple order. I got the western omelet with side of hashbrowns. The cook put the wrong cheese on the omelet and sloppily threw it together. The side of hashbrowns was not even enough to call it a side and burnt! The amount of hashbrowns was maybe a tablespoon size and hidden under the omelet so it couldn't be seen!! My husband's hashbrowns was also burnt! Everyone else's order was correct. It was a female cook tonight and not the guy cook that we are used to being there. We do not live in Blackshear so it's not a simple run back up there and get...

Thankfully Huddle House of Blackshear was open after midnight & all but maybe 4 tables were full ! It was clear that though the doors were open for business they were short staffed to say the least. I want to say there was 1 cook & then there was Micheal. Michael was the ONLY person to take orders from walk-in's, answer the phone, refill drinks, sweep the floor, ring up tickets, follow up on orders, bring out the food & answer all the nagging yet, in good favor, requests of the customers who filled the place. He multi tasked this nearly full house with such ease & charisma that it left you with a feeling of ease. Not once did he or ANY customer even once get flustered or agitated or impatient! And our order was correct & the food was great! Hats off to what was already my FAVORITE...

I had to post an updated review after my visit today (9/28) I will say first of all, food & service was great.

Was told that as of yesterday (9/27) they will NO LONGER ACCEPT MILITARY OR SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNTS & they will not honor the coupons anymore!!!!! So okay, I MIGHT could understand not accepting coupons, but to NOT HONOR OUR MILITARY & SENIOR CITIZENS?????!!!!!!!! Come on! I have enjoyed Huddle House for many years, but I have to say this was my LAST MEAL HERE!!!!!! I hate it for the staff, because they work hard for the little wages they get, but I'm sure the owner ain't hurting for money. Blackshear & Pierce County boasts about being "Hometown Proud". I guess that only applies if you can throw a football....
