I was really disappointed in my interaction at this location. We were in line and I made a special request for a bowl due to some dietary needs for my friend and I. The general manager, Angel was extremely rude and denied our request. She raised her voice at us in front of everyone in line and then asked us to skip the line and go directly to the checkout so we could just order smoothies. We had tried to be very respectful and to de-escalate the situation because she seemed really stressed, but unfortunately she kept being rude and used a loud/angry tone with us for the second time. I understand that our request might not have been possible, but the customer service and the communication was disrespectful, embarrassing, and unacceptable.
I don’t want to make any assumptions about racism or Angel’s biases here— but it just didn’t feel great to be the only two brown people in the line in a majority white environment being yelled at and asked to go to the back of the line. It was just so uncomfortable, sad, and humiliating.
I’m disappointed because I usually have overwhelmingly positive experiences at CRISP & GREEN and especially the Saint Paul location and the chain of Lakes location. They are happy to work with us to meet our unique dietary needs. So this was really shocking!
I think I would just highly recommend some customer service training for this individual in particular and the staff in general. Furthermore, a multicultural awareness training or the IDI for learning about biases etc....
Read moreI have never had such poor service in a restaurant off the bat. Walked in with no one else in line & the very first person rushed us through the line. She was extremely impatient. When we were greeted at the register, I asked for an Açaí bowl with agave & was told they do not have agave. I informed the cashier that each time I’ve been there I’ve ordered the same thing with agave. She stated that’s not the case & that we must have been talking about another restaurant. She informed me that they have no syrups. She then walked away, went to talk with another staff near the back and glared at us. She didn’t finish ringing me out and left for another person to do it. I took out cash to pay and was informed they don’t take cash (which is fine) however after that it seemed like the cashier was quite upset that I wasn’t being quick enough. After sitting down I realized they made my order wrong, when my partner brought it up to the counter, the cashier proceeded to dig through my food as if we were lying. My partner watched as she and another staff walked away to talk about us. I checked the menu & sure enough, agave is the first ingredient on their nutrition menu. I truly hope that the manger can speak with the staff that worked tonight about customer service. I have worked as a manager in the restaurant industry for 10 years & have never had...
Read moreMy first visit, I admit, I had to email the place to find out if they offered dine-in eating because their website did not specify. Thankfully they did so I headed there with my mom for a birthday lunch. We both ordered salads and smoothies for dine-in but we're served in "take out" containers, unlike the other patrons eating in. Idk if the sizes are different, but the dine-in bowls sure looked like they had more veggies heaping in a mound because they didn't need to save room for the flat lid. Our smoothies tasted like ice with a hint of maybe banana? I was hoping to taste the mango in the strawberry, mango, banana combo. I'm guessing the fruit just wasn't ripe enough for flavor, or they use too much ice. That was very disappointing. Next time I try a salad I will definitely order half the dressing. Both mom and I agreed each of our salads were overly saturated in dressing. The ingredients seemed fresh and appealing to the eyes. The restaurant was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Ambience was noisy, industrial sounds, music, hard to have a conversation that your table neighbors wouldn't overhear. I would like to try another location, perhaps. I love the idea. Definitely will make sure I get that bigger bowl for my dine-in experience. $48 for the 2 of us was quite a lot for what we had and could barely taste anything but...
