Kerby's Koney Island — Restaurant in Bloomfield Township

All the staff wear "Mask". All the waitresses wear Mask, but one. She's a Blonde, about 5' 6""- 5' 7". Medium + build. She wore it initially, when I was there incorrectly- under her nose. I was there, more than an hour. Within 20 minutes she was wearing it around her neck. After that, she just- stopped wearing it- all together. All the staff, including the Host, a gentleman, who (could be the Owner) were wearing masks. The girls talk frequently, amongst each other. Its not at a low level (which is fine- its part of the atmosphere. I couldn't help, but notice, when "the Blonde waitress" would fill her customers waters- to take to their table- she's talking, and laughing out loud, while she's doing that. Literally, directly above "the glasses being filled with ice, and water. I have a problem with that. When she takes orders- no mask. When she carries the plates to the tables- no mask. Talking, laughing with other waitresses- while carrying plates. Talking with her customers, at the table, while putting their plates down- one at a time - no mask. My point. I saw many times, when she was potentially, "contaminating" her customers, space/drinks/food. Not acceptable. All the other employees are wearing a mask- religiously. Properly, at all times. It's the reason, I, as a customer- go there. "Covid", is not "over". We don't even know who is, or isn't vaccinated. It's obvious, this employee- considers herself, "special". Maybe, she's a "Non- Vaccine'er" ? Not sure. For whatever reason, she thinks "the rules", "Kerby's Koney", has obviously established- on their own- don't apply to her! I'm confident, the main reason Kerby's follows, "Mask guidelines" is to ensure, customers still come there- I'm sure! I wouldn't go there, otherwise- as I'm sure, most of their "customers/clientele wouldn't. Bottom line. It's not right, on so many levels- for any, "one person"...to think "the rules don't apply to me"! No one likes wearing a mask. Their a pain in the neck, but they do it! Especially, when they work in a food establishment- that insist on it. Hopefully, after the incredibly polite, Host/Manager/Owner reads this: he will rectify the situation, and do what's "right" for all involved. "Kerby's Koney" has an incredible atmosphere, staff, menu, so many great tasting dishes, and (Coney dog's of course)... for, one person, to, (think they are "entitled"), and poorly reflect- on...

While in the past I have had generally positive experiences at this restaurant 9:45 am September 19, 2020 was not one of them. Unfortunately I got terrible service from the server Kendra. The hostess Ava who seated me got me coffee and water said my server would be over, but I proceeded to sit there about 8 minutes before she arrived. Kendra asked me if I was ready to order and I told her I had been ready. She mumbled some response and too k my order. The in person restaurant was not busy and it looked like there were three servers. They did have a busy carry out business going. My food arrived and Kendra never came back to check on me after that. My coffee cup was empty and I saw her giving coffee to another table and then she headed back behind the counter. I had to flag her down for more coffee where she then asked if I wanted more coffee to which I replied it would be nice, which clearly irritated her. Now I get the stress of COVID 19, but we are all in this together. I don’t think the owner wants people like this working for them. Unless a friend wants to go this particular restaurant I won’t be back. I could relate more, but I won’t waste anymore...

Absolutely the worst customer service I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I was seated by a brand new waitress(very nice girl) who also brought our drinks and told us another server would be over to help us. The 2 other servers were either to busy on their cellphones or hanging out with their friends to bother to take our order. Now mind you, we are 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. They sent the new girl back over after 20 mins to take our order. She was very apologetic for the lack of service. After we ordered, one of the other waitresses came over and asked if we could take our order to go because it was now closing time. When i told her that we waited 20 mins for our order to be taken, she threw the new girl under the bus and completely blamed her. What a jackass. I hope the owners read this review and understand that their employees completely failed and lost us as customers permanently. What an absolute waste of time and money. If this is the best you have to put forward to the public, you would be better off...
