No details even have to be mentioned: Bloomington NEEDS an "açaí" bowl place. A shack. A shed. A food cart...I don't care. My obsession with them began on a vacation to Sedona, AZ, and the Phoenix area, where I spotted a restaurant labeled "Berry Divine Acai Bowls" across the interstate in Tempe. I ended up eating there three times and probably spending 30 dollars on such delicious, creamy, fruity, sweet, healthy desserts. But, perhaps unfortunately, I was living in a city called Bloomington, which, at the time, was devoid of any square foot of space for indulging in this unbelievable foodie phenomenon.
So, with that said and outa the way, I thank InBloom Juicery for providing a much-desired opportunity to taste the same concoction without any plane ticket! The service given by all the staff was exceptional; they pointed toward potential flavor choices and were extremely patient and helpful when I took the time to decide. I opted for the most popular bowl, granola, banana, strawberry, blueberry, and honey atop those heavenly acai swirls. It's worth noting that a number of other combos exist, some even without acai entirely, and I would imagine you could substitute toppings or add different toppings if inclined to do so.
The finished product flew me straight back to the desert, Arizona State, cactus country, and the authentic charm of Tempe. It was breathtaking to experience the punch of several delicious, juicy flavors coming from the sliced fruit and fresh acai mixture. As in both locations, the drizzled honey really elevated the taste significantly. For the price paid and the high quality of ingredients, the portion was more than sufficient (although, of course, I would still be tempted to order another!).
Now: the only aspect of it all that popped out at me as an area for improvement would be seating. Perhaps my expectations differ from most others, but because of my wheelchair and an assumption I'd be able to sit and do some work, I was envisioning at least five or six tables with chairs in a modest but productivity-oriented space. I understand the notion of a quick stop-in to grab a treat, which is great, but I had difficulty pulling together chairs and (two small) tables to effectively set up a "workstation," such as what college students might do on campus. Welcoming that "stick around" sort of vibe might not be feasible...just wanted to throw it out there as a possible improvement!
Nonetheless, InBloom is definitely a 5-star acai bowl go-to! The service is above and beyond, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. Recommended to everyone!...
Read moreFrom my experience acai bowls tend to be pretty similar from place to place, assuming they are made with fresh ingredients (they are at InBloom). What really sets InBloom apart is their excellent staff and easy to use online ordering. I have always been greeted in a friendly manner when I stop in and I get the impression the staff here really care about providing a great product. I don't often write reviews but as a Bloomington resident I would really like to see this place succeed so I can continue to enjoy their excellent breakfast bowls. I highly recommend InBloom for a fast and...
Read moreHorrible costumer service. The worker completely ignored my presence and instead of mentioning that the store was closed which I would have left if I knew but the sign says they close at 5... He turned the music volume up and blatantly ignored me. It would’ve been nice to be told “hey we are closed” instead of being rude and ignoring my presence. Also way over priced! Not exactly a clean...
