Monroe County History Center — Attraction in Bloomington

In September of 2012 I held a small wedding reception at the historical center. What a wonderful venue for a small reception (easily held 42 people plus the catering!). Family and friends enjoyed the museum and all it's treasures. Diane, Hillary and Jenny were wonderful to work with. If I had a question Hillary was just an email away. This is a hidden treasure for Bloomington and I would encourge anyone holding a small reception, family reunion, or any other small gathering to look into renting...

There were a lot of interesting exhibits throughout the museum. The limestone carver exhibit had a nice display of carving tools with a sample of the result of using that tool, and a quary with a few buttons kids would like to push. Outside of the wonderful carved piece and the items and articles already displayed on the wall, it would be great to have more photography displayed of the other pieces of work from the Chicago Civic Opera house to other famous buildings...

Wonderful displays on Monroe Co History. We enjoyed the temporary exhibit called "Order Up!" This exhibit was on many old and a few current restaurants in Monroe County that have been around a long time, many iconic. Lots of information and memorabilia on each. The guy said that they are planning another display in a couple years because they have so much stuff they didn't have room...
