It tends to be a bit noisy . There are no shields or sound barriers between the booths when I was there last . The booths are next to the windows its a bit too bright in my opinion . I'm on the Autism and ADHD spectrums and for others on the spectrums and anyone else who may have light sensitivity, bothered by noises and crowds etc I would suggest eating at this place or visiting during the quieter off peak business hours and do not suggest going on a weekend including on any busy Friday's. Otherwise it's clean, brightly lit, food quality is good and consistent for the most part and staff and service tends to be average for the time of service between ordering food to the time it comes to you although last couple of my visits there during weekday off peak hours the serving times seemed to be fairly quicker than normal which is an improvement and the servers and staff is typically non intrusive and seem nice and friendly enough. The spacing far as the tables and chairs on the area around the bar and near the booths is a slight-bit close for my preference. It would be nice if there was a trashcan with a recycling bin too at least near the outside of the entrance . The atmosphere inside can be a bit dull and bright . Customer diners who sit at the booths with the windows would benefit by some customer friendly adjustable window shading or tint the windows with some treatment or something else so customers can adjust the light from the windows which can be quite a little too bright when the sun is fully out facing the side of the building by the booths and the people and cars passing by windows outside cann for some people like myself being on the spectrums can find it anxiety inducing or triggering my social and food anxieties as well as a distraction for me while being on the ASD and ADHD spectrums .. more and more recently I've noticed certain chains of restaurants becoming aware and caring enough to start providing and making some changes all around becoming more service and atmospherically ASD , SPD, and ADHD friendly at places like Outback restaurants which I think they are really making great efforts to becoming an ASD, SPD, ADHD and disabled inclusive and friendly . I wish Applebee's restaurants would start doing the same to become more caring or sensitive to the disabled and spectrums communities . Perhaps do like outback ready. Does and offer some noise cancelling sensory friendly headphones or even some fidget toys for both the younger folks and adults too.just suggesting a few easy inexpensive yet mindful ideas to become more inclusive and attract more business . The menu selection at this specific location only seems to be less items available as compared to the larger sized locations . So overall this place is a 4 star rating for me . It's good but could be improved a bit with some updating and inclusionary service additions and some atmospherically adjustments...
Read moreTroy Torres, Hazleton Applebee’s Manager was very customer friendly, also a fellow veteran whom personally gave us veterans discount on all 4 of our meals. Troy shared after I asked him how long was he an Applebee’s manager. He told me about 6 months and that he worked his way up from working as a cook! We were very impressed how he worked his way up to be an excellent Applebee’s manager. Our waitress, Krystal, cheerfully provided us with excellent services. She did superb job of refilling our drinks, frequently asked if we needed anything - we, all 4 of us, were well taken care of. Promptly cleared table of plates and silverware as needed. Krystal is also a very honest waitress who informed us that we had a larger amount on our Applebee’s gift cards than we thought we had, immediately after we paid for our meals! Our meals were excellent and we had plenty to take home and enjoy for later.
I shared a bad experience that we had a few years ago, after a group of about 12 of us, after eating at a different food establishment restaurant in Allentown whom ripped us off when we attempted to use 2 of their $25 gift cards: our waitress informed us AFTER we already paid using 2 gift cards and after I asked for a detailed receipt (she only gave me total paid receipt) I asked for a detailed receipt for all of our meals and the receipt showing the 2 $25 gift cards that were taken off. She hesitated for almost a minute, then she told me that one of the two coupons didn’t have anything on it!? Why didn’t she tell me that before or immediately after I paid?! I told her that was strange because we got both at the same time and that we haven’t used any of them. I wanted the gift card back after she asked me if I wanted it. I called the number on the back of gift card, on the way home and verified that there wasn’t anything left in it! Luckily I asked if they could tell me the date it was used? IT WAS USED THAT SAME DAY! Our waitress ripped us off by keeping 1 of the 2 $25 gift cards. I called the restaurant back: the “manager” told me that our waitress couldn’t have done that because she was one of their best waitresses. Later they sent me something for $25 that I could use at their restaurant. I stayed away from that place for...

TOO processed, TOO expensive for the horrific quality of "food" that is served. I cannot imagine anyone spending such an outrageous sum on a lunch at any Applebee's restaurant anywhere on this planet. It's all sub-standard quality food and so expensive that it's beyond my ability to comprehend.
To be fair, the waitress and manager tried to offer me another option after I returned the gas-station-quality pasta dish that did NOT come with a salad or other side except ONE dry, tasteless, and over-cooked "bread stick" without any butter, dipping oil, or anything to make it any better.
How can a bacon-double-cheesburger cost $16.49? This is a CHAIN establishment using the cheapest and lowest quality of "food" imaginable. The pasta dish that was returned was chicken parmesan and the "chicken" was so over-processed that it had the consistency of a sponge and tasted like one, as well. The pasta was also overdone to the point that it was slimy. That nasty dish was priced at $14.99.
Oh, and a pre-made microwaved dessert is $6.99. That, boys and girls, is just one penny shy of $7.00 - seven dollars which is about 2 1/2 gallons of gas, 2 lb of 80% ground beef, or a haircut at a barber's. One dessert is $7.00.
So, if two people each order soup ($4.99 x 2 = $9.98), an appetizer to share ($8.99), a simple sandwich each ($9.99 x 2 = $19.98), a dessert to share ($6.99), and TWO glasses of iced tea ($2.99 x 2 = $5.98), the whole meal will total a whopping $51.92 - the cost of 15 days of average-use home electricity - without including tax or tip. Who can do this???
I had not been to an Applebee's in over 5 years, and I remember WHY I didn't like it, in the first place. Shame on this company for raking in such an obscene revenue without offering better food than any gas station!
