We came with three paying groups. My sister-in-law and her fiancé, my mother-in-law and her two kids, and myself with my two. I had clarified what came with the dip that I’d ordered and was told “It comes with four pita.”
After being given a number I waited beyond everyone else at my table for several minutes.
When I went up to the counter to ask where my food was, I was told my MIL had already taken it. I was confused at this as she had never called my number. They had already eaten half of the two pita. Which I’d found out was actually only one pita cut into four pieces. Point one, why does an appetizer have the same amount of pita as a side? Especially when the dip is in a greater amount.
I’d gone to the counter to ask for more pita at least as due to their service I was now missing half of my pita.
The woman at the counter showed sympathy but then looked around a little lost at what was going on and started asking about mobile orders. I waited there for about two minutes when she’d finally looked back at me sheepishly.
“I’m sorry” she’d said. “I forgot to help you with your pita. That’ll be one dollar”. I firmly said no and sat back down.
I will not be going back and will not recommend...
Read moreI found this place by mistake. I had made plans to take my wife for dinner somewhere else, then found out it was closed that particular night. We needed somewhere close by so that we could eat before the babysitter was done. In our scramble for another option we stumbled across Al-Amir here on Yelp. The reviews are right. This place is great! The gyros, schawarma, and falafel are delicious. I lived in the Middle East for 2 years in graduate school and the food at Al-Amir is the closest thing to actually being back over there that I've experienced in the US. The prices are great and the food is better. If it didn't take 30 minutes to get here I'd be getting takeout from here multiple times a week. They do have several tables with chairs. The tables and chairs were deserted when we were there. Only two other couples came in while we were there and they were picking up takeout orders. At least the night we were there gave us the feeling this place hasn't really been discovered yet. It needs to be. This place is great and I hope it...
Read moreI love to try chicken shwarmas all around town. This place, no doubt about it, has one of my most favorite. My wrap was overflowing with yummy, flavorful goodness. For the price, you get a generous serving.
I have never actually had a gyro before, but the owner offered to make me one to try since they no longer have philly cheesesteaks. It was delicious, and my wife liked it too. She never had a gyro either.
This place is definitely a hidden gem. The owner and his family work hard to make sure you enjoy your food and enjoy your experience. The name of the restaurant has been changed to their little daughter's name. She is sweet, cute, and bubbly. You can sometimes see her there, and she is entertaining if you engage her.
I highly recommend this place and encourage others to try it. The more people who know about this treasure and continue to spread the word, then the longer they will be around. I don't ever want to see this place shut down in...
